After coming from the Physician's quarters, Naimishi lay down on the bed to rest. Sleep should have been a welcomed escape, but her mind refused to let go of a certain arrogant peacock. His face, his touch on her waist – they consumed her thoughts, stirring a torrent of emotions she couldn't comprehend.
"Why is he affecting me so much?" Frustratingly, she rose from the bed and walked towards the mirror, watching herself in the reflection. She didn't know why but had the urge to admire her body, a feeling she had never experienced before. "Alora, in a single line, describe my beauty."
"The number of men you rejected is longer than a snake's tail, Princess," Alora stated matter-of-factly, drawing a lotus flower on the lamp with her finger using the rice flour paste. The lotus flower is the Goddess's favourite. When she went to the market yesterday, she was tempted to buy a lamp for her as well. Alora wished the Goddess would show her future husband to her tomorrow night.
