Hannah's pov
As she walked through the hallway on her way to class after leaving Ron, in the basketball court.
She saw her friend Trisha, walking towards her they had same class on Monday afternoon.
"I heard you are going to be tutoring Ron", she said.
"Oh boy! I'm trying hard not to think about that now", she told her friend.
"Okay fine, but to be completely honest with you, I thought you'd turn him down. Knowing how much you dislike him", Trisha said.
"I do not 'dislike' him". Making an air quote when she said dislike.
"I loathe that sick jerk, he just makes me sick and you know my mom wouldn't like the fact I turned down an extra credit assignment. She wants my record spotless when I'm ready to go to college", she said.
"Fine, but does it always have to be about your mom?", Trisha asked.
"What about you?", she continued.
"What you want, for Pete's sake, you're seventeen and you've never been to a party, kissed a guy, drank alcohol or even had detention. Trust me when I say your records are practically too clean for a teenager", Trisha finished.
Hannah just stared at Trisha like she'd suddenly grown a pair of two heads and walked on. They got to class and sat down.
"Well, aren't you going to answer me?", Trisha asked
.
"All what you said is true so what would you have me say?", she asked back.
"Anything", Trisha replied back.
"Well sorry to pop your bubbles babe, but honestly I have nothing to say", she stated back.
"Besides", she continued, "I can't do anything you just stated so just.....".
Trisha didn't even allow her to complete what she was saying before cutting her short and asking.
"Why can't you do them?".
"Because I just can't, besides my mom won't give me any chance so let's drop it, okay", Hannah replied.
"Okay fine, we'll drop it for now but we're far from ending it. Besides you sound like you want to have fun but something's holding you back", Trisha said as the teacher, Mrs Hamilton, the English teacher walked in.
Yeah! Breaking free was what she badly wanted. From all the responsibilities and everything. She had always wanted to know what it felt like not to ace a test, or be given detention or....
Argh! She was thinking too much.
"Mrs Williamson", she heard Mrs Hamilton say, Hannah snapped back to reality and saw the whole class staring at her. She sounded like it wasn't wasn't the first time she was calling her.
"Oh, I'm sorry I was a little lost", she told her teacher.
"You okay?", her teacher asked.
"You were out for quite a while", she said.
Can't a person think in peace, Hannah thought before replying
"Yes I am".
"Okay then, I'm guessing you have an idea what palindrome are then?", her teacher asked.
"Yes I do".
"Then you might want to give the class an insight as to what it means", Mrs Hamilton said.
"Sure", Hannah replied.
"Well, Palindrome is a word, phrase, or sequence that reads the same backwards as forward. For example, madam, nurses run or race car", she finished.
"Why! Thank you. You may have your seat", Mrs Hamilton said.
Hannah sat down and Mrs Hamilton resumed teaching the class.
Whew!! Hannah thought.
