Grace folded her hands. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you," she blurted. This is something she should have done a long time, but she was making her life complicated, trying to hide the feelings she had for him, which were consuming her and making her crazy.

"I will never betray you... Maybe moving in with Mei Li gave you that idea, but I will never," she explained. He wondered why she was explaining all this to him; what had changed?

"I just felt bad that it's always been about you and Mei Li; I felt bad about me being the middle person and that you both don't care about me." Tears rolled down her cheeks, and this caused Raymond to clench his fist.

He loved seeing tears, but not from her.

"Can you please not hate me?"

"I don't," he answered; he couldn't afford to hate her.

"Come here," he ordered, and she reluctantly dragged her feet to him. He held her hand and pulled her to sit next to him.
