Cass shut his notebook at the sound of approaching footsteps, and in walked Shaifeng, hand in hand with Tan. Tan's eyes gleamed as he rushed towards the piano, his excitement palpable.

A smile spread across Cass's face as he observed Tan's joyous expression. Tan dashed back to Shaifeng, embracing him tightly. "Thank you for the gift, Da-Ge," he exclaimed gratefully.

Shaifeng, his anger dissipating, returned the smile. He was relieved to see Tan's genuine appreciation. But their moment was interrupted when Shengmei confronted Cass, her tone laced with anger. "Why did you bring Tan's gift here?" she demanded.

Cass met her gaze coolly, his expression unreadable. "Tan isn't even worthy to lay eyes on the piano, let alone play it," he retorted bluntly.
