Chapter 9: Why Don't You Smile?

One thing that Jade had not expected was to be called by Malfrid in the evening. So far for the time that she had spent staying in this pack, her mate had always made an effort to come and get her outside the house himself, but this time, when she was asked by Malfrid's brother, Olsen, she found herself to be slightly worried.

Could it be possible that Ann had slipped the information about her behavior here to Malfrid? But if Jade thought about it, what was unfitting about the event that happened in the afternoon?

Nonetheless, she gave Olsen a nod and walked out with him.

"You don't happen to smile a lot, do you?" Olsen's unexpected question made Jade look at him in mild surprise.

"No—urm, yes, I do smile." She hurriedly covered her slip up and gave him a charming smile.

Olsen gave her an unimpressed look. "Please don't smile like that. Even a shark in the deepest waters would smile better than that."
