Chapter 110: The Birthday Betrayal

The Birthday Betrayal

Larry continued, his voice heavy with emotion. "While I was at the party, I asked Diego about Abel. 'Haven't heard from him in years,' I said. Diego replied, 'Yeah, but I got good news. He told our parents he was coming to my birthday.' Diego had a sad expression, saying, 'Maybe we can start over.' I told him, 'Don't worry, I know you can do it.'"

Larry's eyes darkened, recalling the fateful moment. "Then, Abel showed up in a dark robe, his Gravity Fury Spear out. Everybody looked at him, wondering what was wrong with him. He used the spear to push everybody to the floor with gravity. Reinhardt, Catherine, Benjamin, and Tina were all on the ground, unable to get up."

Kai's eyes widened in shock. "Why didn't you use Lady Zephyr's power to attack from a distance, or your legendary weapons?"

Larry's expression turned grim. "At the time, I didn't have Lady Zephyr's power or the legendary weapons. So, I went to protect my wife, Lana."

The room fell silent, the weight of Larry's words hanging in the air. The story was far from over, and Kai sensed that the worst was yet to come.

"...my wife Lana was pregnant with our child, so I went to protect her," Larry continued, his voice cracking with emotion. "Then, Diego asked his twin brother, 'Why are you doing this, Abel?' Abel looked at him with no emotions, saying, 'Diego, this is your fault. You need to die.'"

Larry's eyes widened, recalling the intense fight scene. "Diego used his legendary weapon, the Chrono Sword, and the two brothers clashed. Diego was winning the fight, his sword slicing through the air with precision and speed. But then, Abel charged at me and Lana. I tried to slash him, but he dodged it and pushed the spear into Lana's heart."

Kai's eyes were fixed on Larry, horror etched on his face. "What happened next?"

Larry's voice was barely above a whisper. "Diego rushed to kill him, but then a dark power ripped into his stomach. I was furious, but I couldn't move. Abel had me in a gravitational pull. Then, Lana's body turned into darkness, and Abel looked at me and said, 'You weakling, you couldn't protect your wife.' He disappeared and vanished, and then I blacked out."

The room fell silent, the weight of Larry's words hanging in the air. The story was one of tragedy and loss, and Kai sensed that Larry's pain was still raw and unhealed.
