Roland looked at his Alpha with unbelievable eyes. He couldn't understand why Raul would act this way.

Why he would deny his pack from their salvation, why he would deny himself of salvation. Was there something else at play here?

It was obvious that Olivera was their Luna, his mate, so did something happen?

He recalled that Raul had been extra chirpy the day that they had departed from the pack-courtesy of Olivera. He could see that now. The jolly countenance had persisted until he had left him for the retreat. Raul had come back hardened, and he had thought that it had something to do with the fact that the attacks they have been receiving, and the implication that they carried.

Now he was beginning to think it was something else.

"Nick." He called to his doctor friend. "I think that something has happened to Raul." He ignored the withering glare that Raul threw at him, and continued talking.
