"Grandma, where is the chamber of secrets?"
"Why do you want to know where the chamber of secrets is?" Grandma held her stoic face not letting any emotion appear on her face.
"Umm, I heard some upper years talking about it, then I thought that you are from the Black family if anybody knows something about it it should be you..." I let my statement die down as I looked at her.
"I don't know where the chamber of secrets is-" I let out a disappointed sigh, "But during my schooling years the chamber of secrets was open by the heir, other than causing mass terror a student died so the news was quickly suppressed. Where did you hear about it, are there rumours about the chamber opening again? The school is not safe then, why was it allowed to open?" I felt some fear flash across grandma's eyes for the first time. I swallowed nervously and said, "No, No, the chamber isn't open, I just heard some upper years discussing that if the chamber of secrets is real then there surely will be some other secret rooms belonging to other founders present in the room..."
"That's quite possible..." She murmured as Grandpa said, "There are some rumours left behind by the previous head of the house of a magical room that appeared on the seventh-floor corridor, weirdly it held a huge number of brooms present in it, but when he went again to smuggle the broom out the room was gone and he never found it again? but a founder would not make a magical room just to fill it with brooms-"
"Enough nonsense," Grandma said, "Those things are still beyond your reach, and you won't go looking into the Chamber of Secrets business do you hear me? If something in there can kill a 5th year then what will you be able to do, now practice your routine-"
"Yes Grandma," I said and pointed my wand at the table, "Wingardium Leviosa" the table rose about 5 inches above the ground as I strained to hold it in place.
[Charms skill active]
[Gathering proficiency for levelup 12%]
"Good you're improving," Grandma said as continued focusing on the table...
------------------------------------
I flopped down on my bed after several hours of practising to increase my control over magic and then going through every first-year charm I knew.
'Skills'
[Defense against the Dark Arts: 13/100]
[Dark Arts: 0/100]
[Charms: 11/100]
[Herbology: 5/100]
[Potions: 9/100]
[Transfiguration: 13/100]
[Flying: 46/100]
[Wand Magic: 27*/100]
[Occlumency: 17*/100]
I looked through the skills once again, Defense and the Dark Arts, Charms and Transfiguration finally passed the required levels to learn second-year spells. I never realized that although the system helps me learn the skills faster and helps me keep track of the spells, it also stops me from learning new spells.
[Magic is a little more complicated than that Host, to learn any spell you need to have a certain level of understanding about the particular subject. Even if you want to create Liquid luck for example you won't be able to do it because it is a master level potion and requires Potions at 135. The system helps you quantify and eases your learning experience but it straight up won't help you cheat.]
'wait 135? I thought the limit was 100?'
[No, 100 is the skill cap for master level, once you reach 100 on any given field it means you can get full marks in your NEWT level examination. To further increase the skill cap, you need to find a suitable master of the subject and apprentice under him and gain knowledge to break that skill cap.]
'uhh, this certainly makes it a lot harder... wait why are you replying to me now?'
[Because you have finally entered Hogwarts and there is enough ambient mana in our surrounding to support me so that I don't leach any mana from you.]
'okay... what about this prophecy? what is this all about?'
[The sorting hat is a legendary object and can peer into the mysteries of divination a little, it has always been able to peer into the future and act as an omen throughout history. The Prophecy falls under some rules because of which I can't answer you anything regarding it.]
'wait what rules?'
[The rules set by Gaia. I am just a support system designed to help you, other than that I am not allowed to inform you.]
'Soooo? like is there any way for you to tell me?'
[Yes, you need to break through to a Mage, then all the information will be available to you.]
'wait what's a Mage? Is it like a power level?'
[Yes all witches/wizards are divided into different power scales, as you increase in levels you can more easily understand the mysteries surrounding you. For example, Albus Dumbeldore is a Grand Mage, he has sufficient understanding and power to freely control any form of fire and control magic freely. The lowest level which you are right now is simply a witch/wizard. After that is a Sorcerer, a Sorcerer is a wizard/witch who has enough magic and mastery into 1 single branch of magic. After sorcerer is a Grand Sorcerer, with every step above the witch/wizard rank, you need to have a certain level of power and mastery into 1 more form of magic. After Grand Sorcerer comes the level of a Mage, that is a level necessary to unlock all information available to me.]
'uhh... is this common knowledge?' I felt like something this important Grandma should have told me.
[Yes it is but not in this lower realm, most of the magical population on Earth unconsciously break past the level of Sorcerror and then die before going ahead. People like Dumbeldore can slightly peer into the mysteries of magic but the ambient magic is not enough to increase the power level anymore, the only way to break through this barrier is through rituals, that is the reason that your Dark Lord went insane in search of power.]
'wait, what do you mean by on Earth? are there magicians out there too in space?'
