The day came fast and highly anticipated, as Stella, in spite of her hard front, ended up feeling at a great loss with Matteo absent. Without knowing, she had grown accustomed to sleeping off in his arms, and waking up to sweet treatments from him. And now that she thought of it, the idea of moving in with him did not seem so bad.

She walked into the office, almost floating off her feet with excitement as she closed the distance to the elevator. However, just as the doors were about to close, a foot donning a pair of leather black oxford, stepped between the gap, wedging the doors and stepping in—Matteo.

Her legs felt like jelly, gradually melting under low flames that were building up in their midst. Memories of the elevator moments at San Francisco suddenly flooded her mind, filling her with a burning urge to feel them once again—except this time, the situation was different.
