"Are you cold?" Anna looked at Tristan who stood few steps away from her.
"No, " Her voice barely a whisper.
"Do you need a jacket? It can get chilly around here" He was about to remove his jacket when Anna stood up to stop him.
"I'm fine" Her voice came out low as Tristan smiled at her.
Anna who had left the quarters to receive fresh air was feeling a little bit awkward with Tristan's presence. He just stood staring at her which made her feel more awkward.
She unknowingly tucking her hair behind her ear before she raised her blue eyes to look at Tristan's green ones.
"What are you doing here?" came Anna's question which came out in a whisper like she didn't want anybody to hear her broke the silence that the both of them had created.
"Is my presence disturbing you?" Tristan's question came out unexpected as she noticed that a thin line had formed on his forehead.
She hadn't meant to offend him with her question as she was just worried because she had sensed the tension between the two teams while they were in the forest and also between Xander and Tristan in the bed trap forest.
She didn't have to hear it from anyone that the two teams does not get along.
"I didn't mean to offend but I didn't expect to see you hovering around the Knight team's quarters". Anna's words trailed as she didn't want to offend him again.
"I just wanted a little space and decided to step out. My quarters is the closest to this place" Tristan didn't lie but he hadn't told her the real reason why he was here.
Tristan who had went back to his quarters after the little accident that happened was concerned and worried if the human girl was alright.
He hadn't gotten enough chance to speak to her and ask her about what she had seen in the forest because of the presence of the Knight's team and also Elizabeth who would have thrown more tantrum if he had indulged in a long conversation with the girl.
The girl had intrigued him two years ago when he had saved her life. She was bold and a talkative even do she was in pain.
He had almost forgotten about her until when he heard that Xander was going to be her guardian.
Meeting her again, she still left the same impression she had left two years back. His curiosity about the girl was what took him to the woods and also why he was standing here with her.
When he left his quarters he wondered if Xander would let him speak to the human girl. How lucky he was to see the girl outside.
Tristan sat on the log and Anna didn't continue to stand as she sat too.
She was feeling a bit awkward right now because of the presence of the supernatural next to her.
She couldn't help but glance sideways and at the front door of the quarters over and over again like a thief who doesn't want to get caught.
"Did you steal something or what?" Tristan's question made Anna look at him and give a wry smile.
She didn't steal anything but she didn't want to get caught with the supernatural for a reason she herself cannot comprehend.
She feels like what she is doing is bad but she was just sitting and doing nothing else
"Anna" The mention of her name from behind made her almost bolt from her sitting position. She got up and stared into Leon's eyes who stood not too far away from them.
"Hi" Tristan's greeting came polite and so as Leon's smile.
"Never thought we would ever have a member of the king's team as a visitor." Leon's words came out with the same smile plastered on his face.
"I also never thought that I would also be a visitor in the Knight's team's quarters." The words exchanged by the two supernaturals were not violent or offensive but polite but Anna couldn't help but feel uneasy because their words sounded too polite.
"Would you like to come in?" Leon's offer caught not only Anna by surprise but also Tristan who raised one of his eyebrows questioning.
Tristan quickly composed himself and smiled not wanting to let Leon know that he was taken aback by his offer.
"No, thanks" He refused "I think I'm done here" He said and smiled again and didn't wait a second again and walked away.
Anna stared at Tristan's retreating back, before he left he had waved at her and giving her one of his smiles. Anna didn't wave back at him because Leon's gaze as been on her since when Tristan started walking away.
"Xander doesn't like the king team so you should stay away from associating with any of them." Leon words came out a little bit sharp after Tristan had disappeared from sight.
"He was just being nice to me and I know him a little." She demonstrated how little she knew him with her thumb and her index finger pressed together to form a tiny circle.
Leon noticed her arms around her chest trying to warm herself up.
"What were you doing out here?" Leon asked.
"I was getting really bored inside and decided to step out for a minute"
"Whenever you want to step out always wear a coat or jacket, this place can be a little bit cold for you because you're human."
Anna nodded to his words as Leon had already removed his jacket he was wearing and draped it around her shoulders.
Anna was about to refuse but Leon had beat her to it.
"I was about to go to the city to buy our dinner, you should wear it."
"I'm going inside I don't need it..."
"Don't you want to come with me?" Leon's question came out as a surprise to Anna as she smiled widely and nodded her head.
"I can really come?" Anna asked
"It's okay if I'm with you" Leon answered and smiled seeing the enthusiastic look she had on her face.
They both went to the city to buy food. They stopped at a restaurant to buy dinner. Anna went to sit down on a vacant table while Leon went to order the food.
"Anna..." Anna heard a familiar voice call her name behind her and she couldn't help but smile as she recognized the voice before she looked behind her and saw her best friend, Georgia standing there.
She didn't waste a second and got up and hugged her best friend like a kitten.
"How much I missed you" Anna said excitedly as Georgia laughed and hugged her back.
When they both finally withdrew from each other it was Georgia who spoke first.
"I had to hurry up when I got your text"
On their way to the city Anna had quickly texted Georgia that she was headed to the city and she should meet her at the restaurant.
Anna had suggested the restaurant to Leon and he hadn't objected to it.
Anna pulled her friend to the seat next to hers as they both sat.
"It has been just yesterday I last saw you but it feels like weeks" Anna confessed which made Georgia smile.
"Is it really that boring over there?" Anna's sullen expression answered Georgia's question.
"I thought you said you do enjoy your time over there"
"When Louis was still my guardian but my new guardian is really boring and it is frustrating." Anna complained to her best friend.
Anna did enjoy her time in the top walls when Louis was her guardian because Louis was easy to frustrate and they kept each other's company but Xander as her new guardian, she cannot even have a single conversation with him because he was always away and even do he was not away she couldn't bear to speak to him because of his overbearing personality.
"I ordered milkshake for you" Leon's voice came from beside her.
He placed the milkshake on the table and slipped into the seat opposite the girls.
"Thanks" Anna thanked him as she grabbed the milkshake from the table.
"Seems you have company" Leon acknowledged Georgia's presence for the first time.
Anna turned to her friend wanting to introduce her when she noticed Georgia staring at him wide eyed.
Georgia who had cast a glance at the person who had just sat opposite them was dumbstrucked and surprised at the handsome guy who had just arrived.
His midnight black eyes that glanced at her had made her heart almost skip a bit. His black hair was combed while some strands of his hair was let down on his forehead. He wore an off-white shirt but she couldn't see his trousers because he was sitting. A chiseled jawline and sculpted cheekbones gave him a striking masculine appearance.
Anna tapped her friend on her shoulder which snapped Georgia from her daze as she had been staring for too long which made Leon a little uncomfortable.
"Leon meet my best friend, Georgia and Georgia meet Leon, my..." Anna's words trailed thinking of who Leon was to her.
"...new friend" Leon saved her the trouble and raised his hand to shake Georgia.
Georgia couldn't help but continue to stare at Leon as she received his hand. She flustered as her cheeks turned pink immediately her hand made contact with his, she quickly withdrew her hand and blushed.
Anna seeing Georgia's flustered couldn't help but shake her head at her best friend who always behaves this way whenever she comes in contact with an handsome guy.
Anna shoved her friend a little as she hadn't even taken her eyes off Leon since when he arrived.
"How can you complain about such an handsome guardian?" Georgia leaned in and whispered to Anna.
Anna was about to respond but Leon beat her to it.
"I'm not her guardian, I'm her guardian's friend"
Georgia was a little bit taken aback that he had heard her and blood quickly rushed up to her neck then her cheeks.
"Supernaturals have good hearing abilities. Be careful what you say around them" Anna warned
"I can't believe I'm sitting in front of a supernatural and a handsome one at that" Georgia almost shrieked which made Leon smile.
"Georgia control" Anna warned again shoving her once again.
"Could we exchange places tomorrow, Anna?" She asked Anna playfully
"I think if we do that your skin colour would be red forever" Georgia whose cheeks and neck were still red because of the excitement that was bubbling from the pit of her stomach.
A waitress came to deliver the packed food Leon had ordered.
"I think it's time for us to leave" Leon announced
