From what he remembers, Kryptonite, resonates unique kinds of radiations based off of what energies it's subjected to. 2. It changes color based off of long term radiation effects. 3. Kryptonite resonates with other pieces of kryptonite.
This being said, the radiation of a red sun, would be considered a net neutral radiation or pure form of kryptonite. As such, no powers or abilities were granted to kryptonians. However when the planet exploded, the kryptonite was exposed to many different types of radiations, and these radiations altered their resonance and color. Green, Yellow, Red, Silver, Black, ect.
Superman, being a creature who came from krypton has small traces of krypotnite in him. This is why, when exposed to yellow sunlight (a different radiation then that of a red sun) he gains super powers. But, a human body contains relatively little minerals in it. Our body holding something like 5 grams of iron. So when a chunk of kryptonite shows up that isn't 'yellow sun' kryptonite, it resonates against superman's frequency. This is why such small rocks seem to hurt superman. Because a single ring contains as much 'contaminated' kryptonite as his body contains pure. And a fist sized rock would contain enough to match several supermen in amount of kryptonite resonance.
As for the 'force choke effect' it would be similar to what happens to a human when the iron in their body is off set by something. Humans who suffer from lack of iron suffer from : Fatigue, dizziness, pallor, hair loss, twitches, irritability, weakness and other conditions. Which are actually strikingly similar to what superman suffers when he's dealing with green kryptonite. But add on to that the fact that he also loses the typical benefit of 'pure' kryptonite under the yellow sun. So the energy shift is much more extreme in a shortened duration.
Shiro took a deep breath, "Eternal Dragon Shenron, By your name I summon you forth!" The orbs shined brilliantly as the sky above darkened, thunder boomed as lightning suddenly shot upwards, twisting and turning from the sky above, the light eventually formed the eternal dragon shenron from above....His eyes gazing in my soul.
"YOU AGAIN, STATE YOUR WISH, SO THAT I MAY RETURN TO MY SLUMBER!"
Shiro inhaled, then exhaled, "Eternal dragon Shenron, In my body, and in the body of another, whose structure is similar than mine, his name is Kal el, I have adopted him as my son, his name is now clark, we have a weakness, towards the Sun's radiation, I wish that I can give and take immunity to any version of the sun's radiation, thats not Yellow, and Blue!"
I hope I said this right...
"THAT IS A DIFFICULT, WISH TO GRANT."
Shiro frowned.
"BUT IT IS WELL WITHIN MY POWER, IT SHALL BE AS YOU WISHED..." The Dragons eyes glowed...
And for a long moment there was nothing...but then, my form suddenly glowed...before it vanished...
[You now have the ability to give or take away, immunity, from all types of Radiation, but Blue, and Yellow. Do you wish to use this on yourself?]
[I wish to use this upon myself, and my son, Clark."
[Compliance]
Shiro's form glowed, brightly for a few moments, before it disappeared.
[Congratulations, you nor Clark, no longer have a weakness to Kryptonite.]
Slowly, a grin, slowly started to form on his face.
Fuck, you Batman, Fuck you luthor, No one touches my son.
