Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Why?
Cold.
Thats all I felt when the abyss swallowed me whole. My whole body felt cold like icicles pricking my skin or what I thought was skin. Death was not what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong I didn't expect rainbows and unicorns or what, but I did at least something. But I think I forgot when I died. It's not like it matters anymore. I'm dead. Simple as that. I wonder what will happen next or will I just lay in this endless void alone never to feel the light of day again? I stay there for awhile, not like I can go anywhere it is just black after all.
Than something happened a bright light shined all around me I heard wind and rain as I as the light consumed me.
"Hello" a voice said with benevolence.
"Who are you?" I questioned in response.
"Young human, the one they call Selena, you have been chosen to be The Storm Dragon of a new realm or what you humans call world."
What? Wait. Selena, right. That's my name. But who was I exactly? Where did I came from? Do I have family? Friends?
But there were more pressing matter to attend too. Like how this, person? Being? Is choosing me for what was it again? The Storm Dragon?
"Why?" I ask.
"Why? You ask such silly questions human Selena, why wouldn't I not, you are a strong human and kind too, I have no doubt that you can save this world from it's impending doom." I was confused. What was this impending doom? What was I going up against? What do I do to prepare?
Questions, questions, questions; and I need answers but which one to ask first? I couldn't fathom.
Suddenly the light disappeared and I was once again swallowed by black.
"It seems time has run out for you and I, I hope that you save this realm Selena, for not only for them but for you as well" The voice said, her voice becoming distant.
Then I fell, and pain shot through my like a lightning bolt. Unbearable pain that did not stop no matter what I did.
Then all was calm dead calm, too calm. I tried opening my eyes ( I didn't think I closed them) and light blinds me to where I can't see. Grass soft under my talons I wonder...
"Where am I?" And the voice that comes back at me is not my own but a growly and unmistakenly not human.
