"You should have thought of your actions well before you decided on breaking my girl's heart, boy... if you want me to stay away."

When Arlo and the others heard this, they automatically knew that it was Angeal that he was talking about.

Edwin and Arvid knew that it was Devin's anger towards Arlo for breaking Angeal's heart that drove him to want to eat his soul.

Arlo, however, didn't expect this to be coming from him.

Arlo had speculations that Devin admires Angeal, but he didn't expect Devin to be out in the open about it, surprising him at the same time.

Because of that, Arlo couldn't help but ask him a question, further irking Devin as he thought why a mortal who hurt Angeal's heart had the audacity to talk to him with such comfort and ease. 

"You... like Angeal?"

"No."

Devin raised his head up high in pride, intentionally looking down on Arlo as what he said next sent shivers down the mortal's spine.
