Chapter 53: Accepting a Mission

Alaric was finally able to chase off the insistent old woman, mainly because he used the formation guild's name to threaten her. Now, he could wait patiently for the change slime, Pamela, to return.

'Pamela is almost here... how am I going to feed this book to it?'

He considered a few methods, such as using the restroom as an excuse, but obviously, he wouldn't be allowed near the toilet with an important book in hand. Eventually, Alaric decided on hiding Pamela with the book behind some other books on one of the bookshelves. 

'As long as I pretend to browse while she eats, it shouldn't be too difficult. No one interferes with someone else's book browsing in this library,' Alaric thought.

Of course, Alaric couldn't use a popular shelf of books, he would have to pretend to let Pamela eat behind some less important material. Thankfully, there was a shelf that specifically contained books that would soon be scrapped.
