Chapter 22: Young and inexperienced.

Maisie Smith was waiting for us sitting in the chair opposite the table of what we assumed to be her boss. He was as fat as a ball and you could hardly see his eyes or distinguish his throat from his face. He was smoking a cigar that left the office with a pinkish haze that didn't let me breathe. Disgusting.

"Sit down."

Where were we supposed to sit? You couldn't see shit. I could see Maisie's head and his fat mug for fuck's sake. Besides, the heating was on full blast and I was getting dizzy.

I managed to get to the chair, I don't know how, and I tried to hold my breath however I could. How disgusting the sweet smell was, I was going to puke.

"Agent Smith is going to be your contact with me. If I say something, she will tell you. If you want something, you tell her. And I don't want to see you in this office for the rest of your stay in Russia."

Maisie nodded at everything he said. Foolish and inexperienced. She was just another puppet, much easier to control.
