Chapter 17: Haruki’s birthday

*Ring ring* "Hey Haruki, does Rei have a number?

If she does. Can I get it?" Hiroshi says happily as he is excited.

"Sure I'll give it to you." Haruki laughs.

Haruki gives Hiroshi Rei's number, but Haruki feels something in his chest that isn't right.

Haruki opens the door to Rei's room.

"I gave Hiroshi your number since he asked for it." Haruki smiles.

Rei looks at him confused, "Alright, thank you haha." She laughs uncomfortably.

Hiroshi starts texting Rei telling her about the surprise he has planned for Haruki's birthday. But she can't tell Haruki. Hiroshi also wants her to be part of the surprise for Haruki so that he doesn't think she doesn't care.

Rei gets dressed and leaves.

Then Haruki is alone at home, "Hm I wonder where she needed to go in a hurry."

Haruki starts to feel down as he doesn't like to be alone, but as well. He has things to distract him.

*Meanwhile*

"Okay so I finished the decorations, all you need to do is make the cake or I'll order it. Then we'll be done! HEHE!" Hiroshi says as he's excited.

Rei makes the cake for Haruki, a fluffy soft, red velvet cake. His favorite cake.

*Ring ring* "Aye Haruki can you come to my house. I need you for something." Hiroshi says acting like it's urgent.

"Okay I'm on my way." Haruki says. He starts to get ready then leaves.

Haruki gets to Hiroshi's house after driving for 20 minutes.

*Knock knock* Haruki opens Hiroshi's door but it's pitch black inside the house, "Hello? Anyone home?" Haruki says loudly as his voice echoes through the house.

"SURPRISE!" Touji, Daichi, Daisuke, Asahi, Hiroshi, and Rei scream at the top of their lungs as the lights turn on.

Haruki felt speechless as he's never celebrated his birthday, but this will be the first time he will feel accepted.
