Chapter 1: ...PROLOGUE...

I walked confidently towards the box at the center of the room, my face remained expressionless as I walked, I clenched and unclenched my fists in an attempt to calm my agitated nerves, a method I used when the situation called for it. I took a deep breath as I approached the box. I took a step into it and turned to face the judge, who would determine the final outcome of my life and hers, in correspondence to his too.

The barrister put the bible before me and I was told to place my hands on it and recite the words written on the sheet before me loudly. With a barely noticeable grin on my face and a glint in my eyes, whispered" let the games begin" and started the reciting. "I Naomi hobbison, solemnly swear to uphold the rules of the court and diligently answer the questions asked truthfully,I took a deep breath and replaced my nervousness with confidence, and add in my own words to it, but before that I would like you all to know that, what you are about to be told will no more have any value when it's out. We all believe there's more to this incident than what's being put across and we know that the truth isn't always pleasant so we shut our mouths and ears and refuse to speak up. For hidden within us all is a devil and a cunning one at that and we don't want to be it's target. But that is not even a threat, compared to a lioness who is willing to go even to the ends of the earth or rain hell for the sake of her cub".

What I said made everyone shudder at how sharp and icy my words were, and the expressionless face I wore didn't ease their fear. And for once, I was happy at the outcome, my enemies were exactly where I wanted them, and I wouldn't rest until they felt half of the pain I felt and still feel. I was willing to forgive them but they had to go and rub salt unto my already unhealing wound, which had scarred me forever.

My agitated nerves calmed down and confidence and coldness seeped in, further enhancing my glint and the willingness to protect and fight for what's mine. They thought they could break me, maybe they did, but this time it was my turn. the tables have turned and it turned in for my favor. I laughed out at that thought, silence followed after my dramatic laughter, not that it wasn't silent, but after my little escapade, it became relatively more silent. I gave the faintest nod and congratulated myself in my head for my brilliance. I turned to the barrister whose eyes shone with amusement, narrowing my eyes at him just like how Sherlock would when suddenly suspicious. " You may begin." I muttered in a bored and aloof tone.
