Chapter 60: The Edge of Darkness

"Alex," Sarah's voice trembled as she squeezed his hand, her eyes wide with fear, "What if... we never get out of here?"

The shadows around them pulsed and twisted, making the cave feel smaller and more sinister. Cold sweat trickled down Sarah's neck as she felt the weight of their surroundings press down. Alex pulled her close, his voice steady but quiet. "I won't let that happen. No matter what, we'll find a way out."

Outside, the waves crashed harder, and the roar echoed into the cave like a warning. Shadows began to move along the walls, stretching and reaching toward them like dark tendrils.

"Did you hear that?" Sarah whispered, her heart thundering in her chest.

Alex nodded, his jaw set with determination. "We're not alone here. Whatever is coming for us… it's not friendly."
