Chapter 58: Ready for Next

"Alex, are you with me?" Sarah whispered, her voice trembling as the light around them faded. She felt a sudden chill grip her heart, pulling her down into the depths of uncertainty.

"I'm here, Sarah!" he replied, his voice a beacon in the thickening darkness. "We'll figure this out together!"

The brilliance of the light flickered and dissipated, leaving them in a vast, empty space that felt both foreign and haunting. The air was thick, almost suffocating, and Sarah could feel an overwhelming sense of despair creeping in around the edges of her mind.

"Where are we?" she asked, looking around at the void. The shadows that once pursued them had melted into the background, but the oppressive weight of fear still loomed.

"I don't know," Alex admitted, scanning the emptiness. "But we have to find a way out of here."

"Look!" Sarah pointed as a glimmer of light flickered in the distance. "Maybe that's our way back!"
