Chapter 1: 01.The lightning

"Xiaoqing, are you seriously going?" Her brother smiled at her and patted carefully her head.

She just chuckled. ''Brother, I am not that delusional to believe I can survive this sickness of mine. I told you. Before dying, I definitely need to meet him at least once. Since he went overseas we couldn't even see a tiny bit if his handsome face."

Xiaoqing hugged tightly her pillow with his name and under the astonished face of her brother she planted a thousand kisses all over his face.

He stood up and just shook his head as laughter gathered in corners of his lips. "Go then. But if you don't feel comfortable or weak please stop and come back home."

Li Cheng, the only son in both family lines and inheritor of a huge corporation. But that didn't help him save his only sister.

No matter how much money he paid and what doctors he searched for, nothing could help her. A rare disease that couldn't heal her.

Li Chen looked at her room and plastered walls with that mans face and just shook his head. "Strange. Most of the females now days love those boys with a lean body and not too many muscles."

She stopped kissing her pillow and looked at him in wonder. "Brother you are or naive or someone gave you wrong information. Muscles are always hot. It is true that many now like more the beanstalks but I prefer bulky. After all, father and you..." Are both bulky, she wanted to say but changed her mind. "...are good looking men. Those thin people can be blown by the wind. My preference is something you should know well." She pocked his well-developed arm and chuckled.

Looking at her excited face he knew she couldn't wait. "I wish I could come with you..." He had a really important meeting and it couldn't be without him. "What about I ask my people that they find his place and ask him for a private meet. Like that, you can get a few minutes only for yourself?"

His offer was thrown away as she started shaking her head. "Brother, it's not the same. Standing in the crowd and cheering him is different. I would be too shy to do it by myself. It's definitely not the same."

The rejection of his idea was something he already expected. "Fine. Just be safe and come back home quickly." He gave up convincing her.

As he looked behind the car that was going away he had short wish to run after it and stop her going. The uneasiness he felt grew by moment more and more.

The crowd that came to see him was huge but calm and steady. They all came to get a signature. Li Xiaoqing waited just like others and walked step by step towards him. She even happily made a few new friends while waiting in line.

From far she stared at his dark eyes that seemingly sucked her soul as he shortly just glanced over her. He held a small smile on his face and he friendly spoke to each of his fans, not losing his calm.

Looking at the long line in front of her and behind her, she felt sorry for him.

"His hand must hurt already..." She said that with a sigh and everyone in surrounding heard her and nodded.

They all felt sorry but still hoped that he will be able to handle it so long until they passed. The selfish streak could be seen on each of their faces.

Li Xiaoqing pressed her lips and looked at him. Suddenly she had an idea. "I will ask him to have a picture with me instead of a signature. I can get his signature another time." The two girls next to her nodded happily but rest were determined to get what they came for.

The signing was set outside. The sun was not hot and there was even a light breeze. He stood openly under three and occasionally a streak of light would pass through the leaves and would shine over his masculine face.

But the weather started changing suddenly. At first, few fluffy clouds appeared looking like naughty sheep's that rushed away. But when they started gathering a big dark cloud appeared and few claps of thunder could be heard the assistants on his side decided to stop the event.

Li Xiaoqing heard them setting a new date and taking pictures of the crowd. When someone asked why, they smiled. "Boss said first fifty in line will be given chance to come first so please stay still and we will get your data."

Luckily she was one of fifty so as soon they wrote her name she happily waved at him as he was standing nearby and was about to leave when she heard a huge sound and screams in the surrounding.

With quick glance, she saw lightning striking the three and jumped to push him away from it. Unfortunately, the lightning broke the whole branch of thick three and fell right on them.

As she pushed him away the branch hit her body completely and buried her under it.

He saw her looking at him with a huge smile on her face as her eyes clouded. ''You are safe, yes that is important...'' But right when he wanted to push branch away another lightning struck right there again and hit trough both of them under scream of the crowd.

This time he fell right on top of it and under screams of people closed his eyes as well...

Li Cheng was in mid of a meeting when he heard thunders outside. The moment the lightning hit down his heart suddenly felt like braking into tiny parts and he suddenly paled. A bad premonition hit him and he suddenly jumped up and started calling under surprised eyes of people. "Where is she? Take her back home it's thundering. I don't care if she didn't get a signature, her health... What?"

His whole body waved as he heard the words from the other side. "What hospital?"

He shook as he stopped talking and looked at everyone with a grey face. "Can we please postpone this... my sister got hit by lightning and is in the hospital now. I can't..." Then he just rushed out while everyone understood what just happen. They accepted to postpone the great meeting as it was a serious situation, and they can't continue without him anyway.

As he sat next to her bed with empty eyes he just repeated. "Please be happy in next lifetime. Please be healthy in next lifetime..."

He knew that her sickness would make her in later faze have excruciating pain. There was nothing that could even help her with that, as the sickness would hit her nerves and bones a few months later.

Looking at her smile on her face and calm expression he felt like she got her wish. Dying without pain was actually her only wish. She hated pain the most...
