Chapter 6: CH.2 P. 4
As they made their way out of the Village everyone was Glaring at them until they left the territory, they were just too scared make a move and stop them. They made it out of the White Tree Village and out of the Village Territory without another issue after the show Scarlet gave them.
Scarlet headed to the river that was just outside the White Tree Village Territory so that she could get her new Kitty cleaned up and do a thorough exam before going back to her Little Cave to suffer on her own until her time was up. Then she could move on freely.
"I owe him a Life Debt for getting me out of the Open, on top of that he almost died because of it, just adding to that Debt. I owed it to him to help him out of the situation that I got him into." She thought to herself. Scarlet instructed him to get in the Water so she could give him a good cleaning and then a thorough examination. Expecting him to resist or ask questions at the very least, but it surprised her when he just got in without a word.
Scarlet helped Travis wash off the spit and cleaned the wounds he got from the various things that were thrown at him, but she didn't get in too deep because the cotton strip would be soaked, and she couldn't let that happen. Thinking about him just being around while she changed it would be humiliating enough to make her die from embarrassment. One Hundred Miles would not be enough distance for her to feel comfortable enough doing that.
When she was done cleaning him up, he got out and shook the Water off. After he finished, he looked over at Scarlet, his eyes immediately turned into huge circles, when he seen that she was completely soaked from head-to-toe, because of his shaking.
Scarlet laughed and used her Energy to remove the Water from her body then pulled him over to this Shaded area. She told him to change into his Other Form so that she could good look at his wounds, but she didn't expect him to change so quickly, when he did, what stood before her was a very necked man.
She didn't think that when the Males Changed their Forms that they would not have cloths on. Standing there in shock for a minute, just taking in the sights before her. Scarlet finally pulled herself back to reality, and turned around quickly and used her Energy to bring a piece of cloth to her.
The Earth suddenly formed a pillar hip high in front of Scarlet, delivering a piece of leather that she made from One of the bores she killed here not long after she had got here, and threw it to Travis' general direction and said "Here, could you cover up please."
There was a Tremendous pain in Travis' heart that he couldn't hide in his eyes, coming to realize that he let himself think the impossible "It was Completely Stupid to think she would ever like me or my body. But… the way that she stared at me just now. No! It was just my wishful thinking. There is no way that a Female like her would ever want me."
As he wrapped the cloth around his waist and said "Done." Scarlet turned around and seen the hurt in his eyes and her chest ached at the sight but pushed it aside and tried not to wonder why she had the pain in the first place. She instructed him to sit down so she could examine him. Started with looking at the wounds on his back First, because she just couldn't bring herself to look at him in the face. Especially since she was blushing just by examining his back with how Strong it was.
It was a couple of minutes of Scarlet cleaning and checking his wounds when he spoke "You said that you were an Alchemist. Right? What is that exactly?"
Being a little shocked that he spoke and that his voice sounded nice. It took her a second to recover from the shock and she said "Alchemy is basically science. The study of why things are the way they are. How things work and what can be done with it what you have on hand."
"Are you a doctor?" He asked next.
Thinking about how she would find the words to answer his question, she finally said "Everyone in my Family took an Oath when they became Doctors. I was never given that Oath so I can't call myself a Doctor. Even though I was trained as One from a Young Age."
"When I found you there was the scent of a lot of blood, and you felt extremely hot. Are you… are you going to be, okay?" Travis said with a broken voice.
Scarlet didn't want to talk about this with him, so she said "Yeah, I'll fine there be nothing to you need to worry about. This kind of things happens all the time and I can't die from it."
Hearing this stumped him for a while and they both stayed quiet for the rest of the exam and treatment. When Scarlet was done Travis looked like he wanted to say something, but he just couldn't find the words. Gathering her stuff Scarlet was about to say her goodbyes when once again she was faced with a naked body. Looking away she told him that he could keep the clothes and stay out of trouble.
As Scarlet started to walk off, her stomach made itself known. Then right behind her she heard an even louder grumble right behind her. Laughing she turned and asked him if he wanted to eat First before they both went their separate ways.
The shock he received at my question was so funny she couldn't help but laugh. Travis quickly recovered from his shock he said "Yes, I would love that. If you tell me what you want to eat, I can hunt it quick, or I can catch some fish?"
Laughing at his enthusiasm Scarlet said, "No worries, Kitty I have some food that we can eat, and it doesn't take long to cook either." When Scarlet finished speaking, she did a little Yoga move 'to make it look like she had to do something to bring it to them', but in fact she just used her Energy to bring it from her hideout.
Once the stuff she wanted was brought to them Travis was once again shocked to see what Scarlet could do. Getting things ready for brunch Scarlet thought about the faces that Kitty had been making and how they were just so funny. The Strange feeling in her chest kept lasting longer the more she thought about it, but just Brushed it off as she started to gather wood for the fire. When Travis seen what she was doing he started to gather wood as well, while having a strange look on his face.
When we had finished gathering all the wood that was needed, he asked "What is cooking and what is the wood for?" Laughing at him again Scarlet answered, "The wood is for the Fire." Which was the wrong thing to say. As soon as she said Fire, he had the look of sheer panic like he had seen a ghost, and again Scarlet just couldn't help but laugh at his reaction.
As she proceeded with answering the question his face changed to one of understanding "Fire is dangerous and should not be played with but in a controlled environment it is safe if you pay attention to it. You cook food to kill anything that can be harmful. Things like parasites and bacteria that may live inside the animal. It also helps make it taste better especially with the right ingredients." Already knowing that she would need to explain ingredients she just showed him the plants and herbs that were collected and dried to use.
Travis looked like he still didn't understand but was not going to ask any more questions. Instead, he just watched as Scarlet put everything together. When she asked him to put some Water inside the pot and bring it over and he did so without any complaints. When he brought it over and Scarlet looked inside and said, "That's a little too much Water."
Travis looked like she had just skinned him alive. When she told him that he just needed to pour some out he began to look better. Starting the Fire and adding the ingredients to the pot, finishing with the lid, all that was left was to just let it cook. He had such a confused look on his face but didn't say anything, because he didn't want to annoy her.
