Chapter 21: Venn Lee Mask Exposed
- Master Bedroom, Golden Wolf Mansion -
After leaving Leah to get acquainted with Alex Lee, he hastened his steps and went straight to check on Venn Lee.
She was sleeping peacefully without having any care in the world. He couldn't explain what had drawn him strongly to her. It was not her appearance because she was just a plain-looking woman. It was not her mannerism since she even dared to propose to be his sex partners than his mistress. It was downward for a simple reason, that his life wouldn't be completed without her.
It had been a day since she passed out and he wanted her to feel comfortably clean so he had brought a bucket of warm water with a face towel inside it and placing it on the dressing table next by the spacious bed.
Yesterday, he had changed her into a plain white tank top nightdress. Slowly, he was lifting her nightdress all the way up as far as it could go.
He held his breath at a beautiful sight to behold, he had felt aroused the whole night he slept next to her.
However, he had stayed like a cold fish and laid down next to her while counting up to 10 thousand sheep to put him to sleep and out from his misery because of his unfulfilled rebellious beast.
Uncomfortably for he had to hold the fort and ignoring the fact that he was a hot-blooded man, he stripped down her underwear and bra and gently, he wiped her body starting from her shoulder.
However, he stayed a little bit too long in her private areas, argumentatively, the areas needed more work to clean, but inwardly he knew that he just couldn't resist the temptation to touch her enchanting body. His touch was gentle and it was not with the intention to arouse her, it was only a loving touch of a man caring for his unwell woman.
After he satisfied that she was completely clean, he put back on her bra and underwear and pulled down her nightdress tidily and using a clean wet towel he wiped her face, and maybe a little bit too rough because, in the corner of her chin, her skin was coming off.
It scared him shitless!
What happened? It's the poison causing her skin to come off? It doesn't make sense...
He reached out to pull out her dead skin, but when he pulled it, her skin was lifted up like a second skin. He gasped and stopped pulling out her skin. But then he felt like a big thunder had hit him hard through his heart when he finally comprehended fully that Venn Lee was wearing a mask.
The woman had hidden her real face from him, that was the reason why she didn't let him kissed her face.
Why would she hide her face?
Curiously, he wanted to see her real face, but at the same moment, she awoke and strongly she hold on his hand and begged," Don't...., Please!".
He was furious, he was in love with the woman and her face was not even her true face? He gazed at her pale lips and realize how she looked really sick. He didn't want to explode in anger in front of her. Coldly, he left without a word.
Venusa was scared out of her wits right now. Her body had shaken in fear and trepidation. Damian Shen had found out that she was wearing a mask.
In order to hide her identity, also she had been disguising her voice with a secret technique learned from her uncle.
What should she do? He couldn't find out that she was his late wife, she had to come out with a good reason to defend herself.
She was trying to lift herself up to check her mask in the mirror but she was too weak. But then she saw her son entering the room with a smiling face.
"My dad just told me you had awake, but why he was not happy? Instead, he was so furious that he was challenging all my agents for a sparring fight".
Venusa blurted out with a worrisome voice, " He knew I was wearing a mask and he almost lifted up my mask and found out that I was his late wife that pretended to die to run away from him. What should I do, baby?!"
Alex Lee shook his head and like a true leader, he said," I'm not going to help you to cover for a lie, you had to explain yourself whether you have to lie or telling the truth."
"But the lie is easier to digest than the truth!", she commented with a serious expression.
"To be honest, I like my dad and I want you to get back with him before the other woman get his love and I would have more vicious half-sister like Leah Shen", he said while thinking of the wicked girl who was smart in manipulating his dad's love and he was afraid that his dad would eventually follow her wish and married the pretentious girl's mother.
Alex Lee added, " Mommy..., it's out of my hand..., I will send your dinner here! Please eat slowly since you haven't eaten anything but a mouth to mouth liquid!" He winked playfully to tease his mom.
She gasped and touched her lips.
Also, she realized that her body was not sweaty and it was freshly clean with a flowery smell. Then her mouth fell open with disbelief as she perceived that he had washed her body. Why he was so gentle to her?
Again, Alex Lee added, " The powerful man had taking care of you like a servant! I think that he truly loves you, so mom please open your heart and accept him again. I hope you would make a good decision. I'll leave now!"
By herself, she remembered vaguely of his worried look when the arrow hit her but then she passed out after coughing out blood and she doesn't know what happened afterward. She sighed with confusion.
After a long thought, she had made up her mind to get back in his life and maybe only as a trial to give him another chance. Her mission had finished but she didn't want to go back to the island yet, she could tell that it was the same case with her son, and this time they could live as a family. Since he didn't love the other woman she would just tolerate her presence. However, she would keep her mask and gave him a flawless excuse that would work perfectly.
Damian got back to the master room after eating dinner with Leah, Alex Lee and all the elite agents. He noticed that she just finished the food on her tray. Coldly, he placed the tray aside at the dressing table.
" We need to talk!", he barked.
She nodded in acceptance.
"Why do you hide your real face?", he asked while looking at her with suspicion.
"I am a secret agent, hiding my identity is a must, also I am afraid that my enemy would recognize me and killed me, another reason is that I was hiding from my husband if he knows I'm here maybe he would drag me back to his side to put me in jail or even torture me because I was running away from him".
"You don't need to worry about him, I am quite powerful and I could take care of your abusive husband!"
She smiled mischievously because he was going to take care of himself.
She added, " Also, I didn't want to let you see my face because I have a very ugly long scar on my face, I'm afraid you would feel disgust at me if you look at my hideous face!"
Then she was covering her face with both of her palms and pretend to sob with sadness.
Her performance was successful, his expression was getting soft and tender. At that moment, his heart was full of endearment toward her and he agreed not to expose her real face. After all, he loves her inner beauty and he didn't need to know how she looks, he loves her even if she was ugly, also she had saved his life twice at the price of her own life. Thinking of that, his heart quivered uncontrollably at the thought of losing her.
He instructed, " With one condition, please be my woman!"
She nodded with a teary look of happiness.
While His face was shining brightly at her response and he was hugging her tightly.
He inhaled her familiar scent deeply and uncontrollably he was aroused beyond help.
It took all his willpower to restrain himself not to go further down the road to the point of no return. He knew that she needed her rest and any little motion right now might prevent her wound to heal.
"I'll wait until you heal completely and I promise that you would see the stars!".
He smiled charmingly.
In a blink of an eye, he gripped her face gently and kissed her deeply, and for a moment he paused to sink his teeth on her lips and nibbled on her playfully and with a top-notch he ended the passionate kiss.
She was breathless and her eyes had darkened with desire while her body trembled with longing.
He smiled devilishly and whispered," Sweet dream my love".
And he left her hanging.
