The day after the feast, Conradin woke up in his bed. As he turned, he saw that Grey was up, his eyes fixed on Conradin's face. As the two locked eyes, Grey rose from the floor and walked cautiously to the king, putting his snout in his face and smelling Conradin before starting to lick him. 

''Ahaha, come on, stop,'' said Conradin with joy as he petted the fur of the beast. Conradin's laughter filled the room as Grey continued to shower him with affectionate licks. The bond between them has been growing stronger with each passing day, solidifying their trust.

As Conradin opened his eyes, he took a deep breath and let out a satisfied sigh. He knew that his faithful wolf companion, Grey, would be by his side throughout the day which further added to his current smile.
