Chapter 120: Do I Look Like I Care?

Given not any other choice, Lillian could only smile at him in response as she tried her best to shove her thoughts down. 

The hurt was evident in her eyes, yet she tried to keep it herself, not wanting to make Blake feel bad about it for another second. She rather forced herself to pay more attention to his words as he began to share with her the main reason behind his breakup.

"I have been putting up with the change in her personality for some time already. I have also been giving her some space so that she could get her thoughts back on track because it was too obvious that something was bothering her. I was hoping with every last bit of my soul that it was all it required to fix what he had lost. But… but…" Blake trailed off. A sigh soon followed his words, showing off his helplessness. 

"But things didn't work out as you planned in the end." Lillian spoke up, completing his words for him.
