Chapter 5: Ch-5 How much is a human life worth in points?
Class 1-D had finished introducing themselves an hour ago. Students had long gone from the teaching building except for Light Yagami and Kei Karuizawa. Karuizawa stopped Light when he was going to get out of the class. She said that she had an important thing she want to talk about.
"Yagami kun, can I request you something?" Karuizawa asked with a nervous voice.
"Of course, you can count on me. Karuizawa san." Light said with a smile.
"Yagami kun can you be my fake boyfriend?" Karuizawa asked with a fearful tone.
"Why?" Light asked acting puzzled.
"Please keep this a secret. In fact, in middle school, I was bullied. I don't want to be bullied in high school too, so I think if I go out with a popular guy, I will escape the bullied." Karuizawa said. Her body was shaking intensely.
"Hirata san is also popular, isn't he?" Light asked the shaking Karuizawa.
"Well, you're smarter than him, and from your action. I feel like you will be the class D leader, so if I choose you, I can have a higher position in class than being with Hirata kun" Karuizawa answered weakly.
'Hmm... if I accept her then, I can't use my seduction skill to the fullest. But I can create a puppet that controls the female class D. In this way, I can control the information and manipulate them easier. At first, I think I will contact Kushida, but now I don't need to.' Light thought and tapped her shoulder lightly.

Please, do it to the best of your ability. Do you accept my condition?" Light asked Karuizawa. His hand was still on her shoulder. "Good, then see you tomorrow. Kei." Light said and walked away. Leaving a blushful Kei in the empty classroom.
Light continued walking until he was at the front door of the teacher's room. He knocked on the door lightly and waited for a reply.
"Come in." He heard a feminine voice answer. He opened the door and walked into the room. He glanced around the room carefully and found 4 teachers in this room. He looked at Chabashira who was working on the computer. He walked toward her and spoke.
"Excuse me Chabashira sensei, I have a question regarding things that points can buy. You can answer this question, right?" Light spoke loud enough to make the other 3 teachers hear the conversation.
"It is alright, what part of it do you want to know?" Chabashira turned her face to Light and asked.
"Can points buy a test paper before I'm taking an exam? Can a score be bought? If it can then what is the price? Can I be a student in another if I have enough points?" Light asked a general question to Chabashira. When he finished his words. All the teachers in the room except Chabashira had shocked expressions on their faces.
"First, no you cannot buy an early test from the school. Second, a score can be bought but the price is not the same for every exam. Third, you can use 20 million personal points to change to any class." Chabashira answered Light calmy.
"Is that so? Then to the real question. Chabashira sensei, how much is a human life worth in points?" Light asked with a normal smile on his face. Chabashira finally showed an astonished face. The other 3 teachers also opened their mouths wide to his questions.
"Like in society, the school is prohibited to buy or sell human beings. Light Yagami" Chabashira said with a serious face. She glared at Light brown eyes intensely.
"I didn't mean that sensei, you don't have to look at me that intensely. I just want to know, will you set the price of humans equally? If not, what are the criteria?" Light asked Chabashira while maintaining his smile.
"I think I don't need to answer that question, but I will tell you, my opinion. I think humans have different values. My criteria for a highly valued human are their abilities and social involvement." She said with firmed voice.
"Then in your opinion, is the criminal should receive capital punishment? Is someone who drags society down by worse than inabilities and unsocial involvement people?" Light asked her with a serious tone.
"Of course, all criminals should receive punishment but receiving capital punishment is too far. Everyone can be lost but how far and how long it depends on that person. The one who has gone too far should receive severe punishment as the law state." Chabashira answered.
"Thank you for your time, sensei. I appreciate our conversation greatly." Light said and walked out of the room.
"When he ask how much a human life is worth, I thought he is crazy." A middle-aged man of average height with gray hair and green eyes said.
"You have a dangerous student, Sae chan." a young adult woman of average height with chest-length light-brown hair spoke.
"Please deal with him carefully." a middle-aged glassed man of average height with grayish color hair warned.
'Ha... if only he is normal, I guess I have to use plan B then.' Chabashira thought while looking at the exit doors.
