Chapter 40: A fool in love (1)

"My family uses one of the best doctors in town. Why wouldn't you want to use him instead of this doctor I have never heard of? My child should have the best care," Jack said, trying once more to get Beth to change her mind. 

What did this doctor he never heard of knew of caring for a pregnant woman? 

"Jack, I told you that he saved me in the past and whenever I became pregnant, he was always my first choice. He is special to me unlike your doctor you use and don't speak to when you are well. I cannot turn my back on Chester now. Please understand," Beth said, touching Jack's face to convince him. 

Jack felt as though he was between a rock and a hard place as he didn't want just any doctor taking care of Beth. She was finally letting a doctor take a look at her but it wasn't the family doctor. He respected her loyalty to those she knew before him so he would have to let this rest.
