Chapter 12: Young genius

A young man stepped into a fully furnished expensive looking mansion as he thought about what he was going to tell his father to convince him. He had been going through how to convince his father that the game he was playing was bound to be a huge business opportunity. He knew that his father didn't care much about the video game industry but this young man could see how such a game could have a transformative effect on the economy. He didn't really know how much wealth or power in the future but with the little that he had seen it was pretty clear this game could make huge waves economically and perhaps in the future politically as well. The young man walked up the stairs heading towards his fathers study. This young man had always been praised by his father for his supposed genius level intellect but he had never felt that anything he had done was particularly helpful. Sometimes his father would ask him for suggestions on topics if he wasn't sure if a decision was worth it or not, but as far as he knew that was pretty much it.

He lightly knocked on the door three times, and he heard someone on the other side say,"Come in". He walked into his fathers study to see his father sitting over his desk, completing some very complicated tax forms. The young man's father stopped what he was doing when he noticed his son had come to pay him a visit, which was uncommon unless the son had a new game he wished the butlers to purchase for him. He looked at his son and said,"Hector, what game are you looking for this time?" he said to the young man while chuckling

Hector took a deep breath and said,"Father, today for only the second time on my life I come to you, not as a son, but a businessman with a proposal"

Hector's father suddenly froze, he had his mouth slightly open in surprise. The first time his son had done this act it had been to help a large number of homeless find jobs and provide housing for them. At that he had been very wary of this idea of his sons but decided to follow through with it. It had been a huge gamble as they were pouring at least 30 million dollars in that project, however after the news of the event came out businesses were signing exclusive contracts with his company simply because "he saw humans, even the destitute and starving, as people worth his money". He knew that his son had simply wanted to help these people, but this single approval from him had jumped his stocks up and gained him alot of business partners. It was well worth a measly 30 million.

The Farther said after a moment,"Go ahead, I'm eager to listen"

Hector said after another deep breath."Father, before you judge, hear me out". His father suddenly was very interested as he continued,"The latest game I asked you to buy, Adella online, is, at least in my opinion, a true masterpiece. I've been playing this game for about a month now and from what I've seen I can guarantee that game will hold significant weight in the future. I don't know how much exactly, but I personally estimate that this game could hold possibly 7 percent of the entire worlds wealth within the virtual space in around 5 to 6 years."

His father suddenly yelled out,"What?! 7 percent?! That would mean you estimate that the game will come to carry an income of 45 trillion?!? Have you gone insane??"

Hector simply looked at his father and said,"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying"

Hector's father slumped in his chair trying to calm his beating heart. HIs son was rarely wrong about anything, and even if he wasn't 100 percent correct the outcome would usually be something close to the actual theory. This was what it meant to have genius level intellect, someone who can casually look at complex plans and instantly see the profits and flaws. His son was really too smart and although he was extremely proud of his son and knew he would make a great businessman, he also greatly feared that his son was just a monster hiding his true colours until the time to reveal them came. Many geniuses of the past became like that after all and although his son never really showed those tendencies it would always remain in the back of his mind.

He sat in silence for a minute contemplating some more and then finally said,"How much?"

Hector smiled and said,"I believe 50 million should be a good start"

His father took a deep breath and said quietly,"Jesus Christ, 50 million?" He took a moment and then responded,"I will allocate 300 million for now, use the 50 million and then use the rest when you fell the time appropriate"

Hector was a little taken aback as he only planned on the 50 million in his plans. The extra 250 million was honestly a little unnecessary but he believed this was his father putting full trust in him and his abilities. He secretly thanked himself for not being some hooligan or thug and said,"I will humbly receive what father has given me, and I swear upon my name Hector Kosta Revera to return this donation fivefold in the time of 3 years!"

His father silently gasped and thought to himself,'Fi- Five fold?! God am I so glad you're my son!" He laughed heartily for the first time in months, it seems like good times were right around the corner.

A man in a deep purple robe and black track suit attire sat on a small box in the middle of an alley. He was currently listening to a story one of his men was telling him, and as he listened his expression was starting to get darker. He was starting to become confused at the information being spilled to him and it was really starting to piss him off. "Enough!"

The man telling the story was kneeling and bowing as deep as he could. He had been telling his boss the story of what had happened at that man's house. He was honestly just hoping he wouldn't die today. He quickly shut his mouth to avoid the punishments he would receive if he kept talking.

The boss says,"So. These are the conditions he set? And he dare name me in this? Where did he get information I was even here? Only my father knows I am here, as well as this piece of shit here… But that's impossible because we've checked the video logs of the camera you have hidden in your clothes… This.. This is not right, I don't understand…"

The man groveling in front of the robed man said,"Lord Justin, If I may give you a chance at revenge and one he'll never know was us!"

The boss looked down at his subordinate and said,"You? An Idea? Hmm.. Ok give me your best shot, but be warned if it's not up to par, there WILL be punishments."

The man, still bowing as deep as he could, swallowed hard and then said,"He plays an online game, when he is in this game it forces him asleep. When we were knocking as loud as we could to get his attention he didn't notice for over an hour and half!"

The boss' eyes suddenly perked up and he said,"Oh…. I see.. That is indeed a good plan you're cooking up there, but we can't kill him. He had a lot of information, I'm sure he has it set to release upon death. He was smart enough to find out who I am after all, and I've been able to fool my own brothers before!"

The man, still not daring to look up said,"Then how about controlled electrocution? We'll have one of our best spies infiltrate his home and short circuit his hardware while he uses it. The system will fry and immediately kick him out but will likely cause him alot of pain, maybe even brain damage if we are lucky."

The boss looked out at the street just beyond the alleyway. He said," This plan of yours, It is near perfect.. I am honestly impressed Gord. I will see to it that you have a raise of 2 million from now on!"

The man, still not daring to look up until his boss commanded him said,"Thank you Lord! I will humbly accept this gift!"

The boss then chuckled and said,"Alright , get up"

The big man who had been on knees and bowing for a long time did not show his fatigue when getting up and quickly took a stance with his hands behind his back and his chest sticking out as far as possible. The boss sat back down and said,"Hmm.. Gord, I know, send in the best for this one, send in Brast"

Gard's eyes widened a bit but he quickly responded,"Yes Sir!"
