Chapter 1: That's all there is to smell

That's all there is to smell—blood and bodies. The unpleasant odor persists and is overwhelming. I must remain concealed within the tree I am in; I have a view of the horrible scene that is about to happen. You can hear the screams and bodies being shredded as he wants our pack to suffer because he believes they deserve everything that comes to them. The sound of the rogues eating the flesh of the young women and men to demonstrate that they are dead is all he wants.

Rogues abound everywhere. He is making his way toward the Alpha while two rogues are holding him up with a haunting smile. A silver knife has been used to stab the Alpha in the stomach. You can see that he is attempting to hang on however is exceptionally powerless. He crouches down, runs a figure through the pool of blood on the floor, and then licks it off with a smirk as he reaches the Alpha. He gets up and looks at the Alpha. He finds it amusing that his pack didn't last long because he had planned every attack and killed everyone who was important to the Alpha and HER.

He says, "This happens when you don't give me what I want." Where is she now? She is mine," he said, raising the Alpha's face so that he could see him directly. The Alpha spits in his face because he has no energy for this. She has long since left your side. She won't be found. I made certain of that. He says it with a smirk, hoping that's true.

With a grin that looks as icy as ice, the man wipes the spit from his face and looks straight at him. You appear to be extremely sure about that. I will view as her, I will take her to be mine, and you won't have the option to make a difference. They will locate her because I have friends all around me. She is the only one of her kind left; I will create additional heirs if I want her power. As the werewolf king, ascend to every pack's throne. To get what I want, I will kill every supernatural being.

"Why do we kill every supernatural being? How have they affected you? yells the Alpha, who appears to understand what he is referring to.

That eerie smile is back. A king is necessary for all supernatural beings and even humans; They will die if they do not recognize me as their king. I can rule them all with her by my side, and they know that her power is greater than that of any witch or Fae combined. I will have her as my sovereign," he says.

She isn't yours, She is not your girlfriend. She won't ever be really yours," the Alpha says as he hacks up blood.

The man turns to face the Alpha, lunges at him, takes the knife from his stomach, and then inserts it into the Alpha's shoulder blade. The Alpha screams and screams in pain. As I tightened my grip on the branch and held on for dear life, the roar was so loud that it swayed the tree in which I was standing.

The man was staring at the Alpha.

"I ensured that I murdered everyone she loves, including him; Her father, I'm going to kill you now. She won't be with anyone. I have no regard for friends; To get her, I killed mine. As he takes the knife out once more, he says, Why kill her family? Why should she kill her loved ones? The Alpha speaks in a worn-out and aching voice.

He says, "If she has no one, then she will be mine," as he looks at him. Before I kill you, is there anything else you want to say?

The Alpha peering through the trees It seems as though he is looking directly at me with a sad expression on his face. Devon, rot in hell; You kill people for fun rather than for profit. The majority of the pack that you so desired was killed, and the majority are now rogues. He yells, "You have nothing."

The man I currently know to be Devon gazes at him. " I received a pack, and you will never know how much this pack served as a means to an end.

Devon cuts into our Alpha's heart without uttering a word; As I close my eyes, I start to cry because I can feel him leaving us through the bond that the pack has with each other.

Devon moves away as the rebels drop the Alpha's body decisively. Devon looks around at the blood, bodies, and blood that has been spilled. The Yellow Stone Pack was eliminated by us; Kill them if any of them are still alive. Find Freya Stone for me. He shouts, "I WANT HER NOW," at the rebels. His use of a name makes me shudder.

Devon leaves the territory without looking back as he moves through the mutilated and murdered bodies.

The rogues are all leaving, but some are still killing pack members. I'm sick from the stench of blood and bodies. My friends and family are all gone.

I look down with my eyes open; From beneath the tree, I perceive movement; I am aware that I must remain silent and still. Despite their stupidity, rogues will kill you if they smell you. I wait until I hear nothing below for a while.

After descending the tree, I leap from the final branch and immediately stand up.

After looking around, I walk over to my pack's devastation and distraction.

I'm now a liar.

I examine each and every body.

I can feel the tears streaming down my cheeks, it are undeniably gone and none merited this to know they.

The Alpha's sluggish body caught my eye. I kneel and bow my head as I walk over. He remained a true Alpha until the end. As my grandfather as well as my Alpha, he commanded respect from me.

I pray to the Moon Goddess while bowing, asking, "Why Moon Goddess, why did this happen? I require your direction. I require your aid. Now what should I do? Give me a clue?

I have to decide what to do. A light from the pendant that my grandfather has worn every day since I can remember appears as I open my eyes. It shines brightly. I grab it and use my hand to pull the chain. I examine the necklace; It has a crystal in the middle and looks like a full moon. The crystal shines brightly.

A woman's voice is heard saying, "You need to keep that safe." I pivot unexpectedly to see the most dazzling lady I have at any point met in my life. " Just who are you? I inquire, sounding even more surprised by my squeaky voice.

I am here, my child, and I heard your prayer, the woman says with a smile to me. He killed all of my children, and I could feel their suffering. Sadly, she says. I know who she is when I look at her. Moon Goddess" is all I can say.

She gives me a nod. She responds, "You need to go, pack a few things, and take that pendant with you," but she suddenly becomes extremely alert. If you went to the Shadow Pack, it would help; they will know who you are the point at which they see that pendant. Inform them of what transpired here; My child, they will take you in.

I'm shocked and a little confused as I look at her.

Why must I travel north to the Shadow Pack? How could they take me in?" I ask wildly.

"You inquire excessively; Miles, they know about you. Your grandfather frequently spoke of you. She responds, turning away, "He was a well-respected Alpha with many friends and allies."

Freya: "What about my mother?" I say, suddenly thinking about her and feeling sad.

The Moon Goddess stops and takes a gander at me one final time with a touch of grin and some expectation before she says, "she is protected Miles; he won't locate her." She then vanishes before my eyes in a flash.

Once more, I left on my own.

The pendant's crystal has stopped shining when I examine it. I smile and feel hopeful. I pray for my mother's safety.

Before heading toward the pack house, I make sure there are no rogues in the field by looking around. Human and wolf-like bodies lying in my path are all I can see.

I head to the pack house, and I stroll in.

As a result, there is a lot of blood here. In the hallway, I observe additional bodies.

Because our pack house was small, I moved to my room on the ground floor. We were a little pack. I emptied a bag I had left behind after school when I opened my door. With the knowledge that I won't be returning, I pack a few things and look around. Along with all of my friends and family, my house has been sold.

I sit on the bed while grasping the pendant. I shed yet more tears for everyone. I hope my mother is safe. I began to consider what that monstrosity had said to my grandfather and was aware of precisely why he desired my mother.

Devon desired my mother because she has been the only female wolf in our family for generations. Her wolf is completely white. We are the Moon Goddess's descendants. It is said that if we have a girl in our family, they will be the Moon Goddess in the form of a pure white wolf with powers; however, my mother is the only woman in our family. If we have a girl, we are blessed.

She was unable to conceive. She continued to pray for a child; She didn't find out she was pregnant with my mother for years. She is said to have received a blessing from the Moon Goddess in a vision. Due to the fact that she passed away before I was born, I am unaware of her entire history. To keep my mother safe from people like Devon, my grandfather did everything in his power.

Devon killed my dad in the last assault before this five weeks prior. I was protected by my father and forced to flee. I hid for days in a tree before my grandfather discovered me.

I enjoy climbing trees.

A few days ago, my mother was sent away by my grandfather and his gamma, Richard. Because he believed he would win, my grandfather intended to take me after the war; He promised to keep me safe to my mother. Everyone attempted to either leave or fight the final battle simultaneously.

My grandfather told me to climb the highest tree and gave me a potion that covered my scent when the foul smell of the rogues arrived and a mind link from one of the warriors informed us that war had begun. I did as directed. He probably knew he wouldn't make it back to his pack alive.

I think something big has fallen when I hear a loud bang in the hallway; I wipe away the tears and put the pendant around my neck to guarantee it is protected. I took my entire savings and put it in my pocket; I was doing odd jobs around my grandfather's office, so it wasn't much.

I opened my bedroom window, putting my bag on my back, because the north is facing that way; Additionally, my window is the safest option because you never know if any rogues have returned to steal this location.

The corpse stench was getting worse as I opened the window. I climbed out of my window and walked through the woods in the direction of the Shadow Packs' territory in the north.

It will take me five days to arrive by walking. I have not yet shifted. I am twelve years old when we transform into our wolves. Within six months, I will turn thirteen.

Before someone can locate me, I need to move.

After about an hour, I turn to look over the hill and see a lot of smoke coming from the pack house as I pass through the woods. That has been done by some liars; I should hurry up before they find out I'm still alive.

Devon put all twelve boys together and asked if any of them were me because he remembered my best friend Jack putting his hand up and saying, "I'm Miles." I know Devon thinks he killed me. Devon killed him immediately and without hesitation.

While he was chatting with him before all of this happened, my grandfather must have forced him to do it. I was aware of some of my grandfather's plans, but not all of them.

I was sick and devastated, but I knew I had to run quickly. I must quickly reach the Shadow Pack.
