Chapter 87: Althinia's Heir

Lucas entered the library and sat down in a leather armchair. It was time for his weekly briefing with the Admiral. He had just left the breakfast room where him and the two women had been joking about the appropriateness of red meat at the breakfast table and Lucas was a little flustered.

As usual, Melissa had taken the subject straight into the gutter and rolled around with it in there. Ana had howled with laughter both at Melissa's antics and Luke's red face. Lucas's face was red because his mind had been in the gutter about her which made him feel even more awkward. He vowed to kill Melissa later, she knew exactly what she was doing.

Luke had been surprised to see both men absent this morning. It was rare when that happened lately. They had been following the king's advice and sticking like glue to Ana. This presented a problem but not an insurmountable one.
