Chapter 32: A King's Visit

It was getting late, around nine and Scott was bored with the TV. After two hours of random history channel shows about haunting's and ghost hunting, he was considering pouring himself into bed. At least the bourbon had been plentiful from their room's bar. He had drunk nearly half a fifth.

Scott scrubbed his hands over his face. He felt slightly numb and that felt amazing. Better than the useless jealousy that had been eating him alive earlier. He knew he had to get over it but that was easier said than done.

There was suddenly a loud insistent pounding on the hotel room door. Scott stumbled to his feet his face scrunched in confusion. No one knew they were here in Cortez. Scott made his way to the door slightly drunk and looked through the peephole. He cursed then yelled back to Nicholas that he better get up before opening the door to their visitor.
