Chapter 3: Chapter 3: My First Classes Are Interesting. Pt 1

Raven smiled as he stared at the now blue colored clothing of his. Apparently taking a seat at the table for the first time changes the color of your clothes. At least the Hogwarts clothes which he had learnt had little runes stitched into them at the crest.

The tables in the great hall were enchanted, or covered in runes, that when sat down on, it one time activates the runes and casting a transfiguration on the clothing turning it blue. Though it would be more accurate to call it Alchemy. Transfiguration was temporary, Alchemy was permanent.

Though he could never quite understand just why it was a permanent change.

Perhaps he would find out eventually.

Shaking his head he focused on looking around his new common room as a short man walked up to the front, most likely their head of house. He had seen the man at the teachers table.

Possibly has some goblin heritage due to his looks? Half goblin perhaps.

"Hello everyone! I am Fillius Flitwick. I am the Ravenclaw head of house Professor of Charms. Standing beside me are the prefects of 5th, 6th and 7th years. If you have any questions you can always ask them or me." The short man said with a smile and slightly squeaky voice.

"Now, some stuff you will need to know about your house. We do have our own personal library here, but sometimes you will not find what you wish to find and most resort to the library. Second, you all will have separate rooms to enjoy for yourselves. Make sure not to abuse it, or else that privilege can easily be taken away. Thirdly, the male and female dorms are separate, so don't go getting any ideas." The professor said with an amused look in his eyes as he glanced at a few older years who looked away with various degrees of blushes.

Idiots.

"Fourth, we do have a buddy system. It will last you till your seventh year. The people a year above you will be your guides and help you when you need it. Thankfully we have an even amount of first years to second years this year. I will have a chart placed out here soon with who is who's buddy." He said with a cheerful laugh.

"Fifth and finally, let us all have a good year!" Fillius said as he waved his wand a mini fireworks shot out and exploded in the air as everyone cheered.

It was a good idea. A buddy system ensured someone always had help. That they could ask someone for help if they were stuck without having to worry about bugging the professor.

"Now do any of you have questions?" The professor asked aimed at the first years. No one responded. "Good. Please head to your dorms. Each one is labeled and separated by year. Simply tap your wand on the nameplate on the door and imagine your name." The Professor said as he dismissed everyone.

Raven was quick to find the first year section and tapped his wand onto the nameplate and thought his name and it changed.

Raven Inanis

It was neat.

Walking in, he immediately saw his luggage appear and he smiled before he started unpacking.

The room wasn't anything special. A simple room with a window, with blue drapes, showing what he believed was the quidditch field in the distance. A decent sized rectangular desk with a comfy looking chair. It had a lamp on it to the side that could be picked up and moved.

There was a single bed with blue bedding. Nothing fancy. Could be a bit bigger though. The poor people who roll in their sleep are probably about to lose that habit. Beside it was a nightstand on the left side. A single lamp and alarm on it.

Honestly his favorite part was the multiple bookshelves against the walls. Plus the decent sized closet.

He quickly went about storing his items away. All his books and manga are stored properly onto the bookshelves. His clothes are in the closet. His potion supplies are safely tucked in a drawer for safe keeping.

Finally he pulled out a small bag filled with cat toys and food. He would have gotten a cat bed, but Izzy usually just laid on his shoulder, or had him carry her. Plus she just slept in his bed with him usually.

Pleased with everything he quickly left his dorm room and went to take a quick pre bed shower.

Once done with that, he returned to his dorm room and fell asleep happy with how his first night at Hogwarts went.

The next morning, Raven groggily made his way down to the great hall, easily remembering the way. He was a bit grumpy due to the dreams he had.

It showed him a blurry image of a blonde haired woman in a dress. Any identifying features blurred out. As if he wasn't meant, or able to see them.

That was the first part anyway, the second part of his dream was like he was in a black void with a blue glow in the distance. One moment it was peaceful serenity, the next was as if he was staring at everything in existence at once, his brain just couldn't simply process all that information.

He idly waved in return to his fellow Ravenclaws as he sat down and started eating breakfast. The cup of pure black coffee worked miracles for him.

~~~~•
Once breakfast had ended, one of the fifth year prefects who didn't have a class in the beginning, showed them to their first class and promised they would show them to their other classes later.
The first year Ravenclaws, first class? Transfiguration.
He honestly held a lot of hope for this class.
~~~~•

"Welcome everyone, for those who don't know, I am Minerva McGonagall. I will be teaching transfiguration for the time you take this class." She said sternly as she gazed out into the class.

It was filled with Ravenclaws and Slytherins.

"However the art I will teach you is NOT something to play around with like a toy. If I even notice for a moment you are goofing around in my class. Thinking of abusing this art, I will ensure you never step foot back into my class again. You will be forbidden from learning transfiguration." The teacher said strictly and seriously.

He believed it. Apparently just three years ago she had kicked out a first year and second year. Both had thought it a joke till she had a charm preventing them from entering her class or even grabbing transfiguration books from the library.

Only a fool would poke the sleeping dragon.

"Now, today we will be doing a simple transfiguration. Most basic transfigurations can be done with the basic spell. Alteratio. Now on your desk you will see a match. Your goal will be to turn it into a needle. You must focus on the goal you wish to accomplish. Once you manage to have the image in your mind down to the last detail, cast the spell." She said and once more slowly pronounced the Latin word for everyone.

She also wrote it on the chalk board behind her with a wave of her wand.

"Now begin."

~~~~•
Raven stared at the match on his desk and picked it up examining it in detail. After all, he needed to know what he was changing.
Once he was pleased with that, he focused on the needle he would change the match to. He would be channeling his magic into his wand and into the match, telling the world that the match is a needle, and so the world will alter it to be a needle.
However the world will realize this and push to change the needle back into a match by draining the mana from it.
So to counteract this he would need to add extra mana while using his will and showing he wanted a needle to be there, instead of a match.
Smiling he waved his wand while mumbling the spell and waving his wand in the correct motion, and to his glee a sharp gleaming needle lay in the place of the match.
"Well done Mr. Inanis. 25 points to Ravenclaw for being the first one to get the spell done correctly, and on your first time." Raven glanced up at the teacher and smiled. "Now try reverting it using the Reditus spell." She said and he did and it changed back.
"Well done. 10 more points to Ravenclaw." McGonagall said with a small smile before returning to walk around the room.
Raven however frowned as he stared at the now returned match on his desk. He hadn't successfully cast the return spell. It didn't work, he could feel the Magic refuse to leave his wand, but yet the needle changed back into a match somehow.
How curious.
~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•

"Hello everyone. Welcome to magical theory. This class is mandatory for first years and seventh years only. Today we will talk about the world." The teacher said, Raven honestly couldn't bother to remember their name. It was plain and a tongue twister.

Annoying and weird.

"The world, which we will call Gaia, the will of planet earth. It is alive just as much as any of us, if not more. It desires to live, so it will pull magic to sustain itself." The teacher said with a wide smile. Clearly the man moved his subject.

"Magic is inherently us telling Gaia that something is to happen, so it happens. However the planet soon realizes this and works to correct this change. It rejects the phenomenon and causes it to revert eventually by draining the magic from it." The man said with a grin.

"There is only one way to prevent this. True Magic. However, that will not be covered by me, but a guest lecturer who will visit in three days from now. Now, open your books to page 1, I will start the reading and have someone continue it." The man said softly as he began the reading into basic magical theory.

Raven could only frown in confusion.

Did he somehow possess this True Magic thing? However, why was it True Magic? The title like wording emphasized greatly by the man. As if calling it true magic or just magic was a dishonorable and disgusting mistake.

What was the difference?

•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•

So I've decided to split this into two parts. I'll obviously be skipping some classes I don't feel like doing.

This chapter:

•Transfiguration

•Magical Theory

Next Chapter

•Charms

•Potions

•Defense

•Magic History & Differnece

Now I do want to mention that yes this chapter is a bit short, but I feel it is ok since I'll be splitting this in two, also I feel like if I didn't, I wouldn't publish the chapter at all. So I felt the need to split them into two separate chapters to ensure I posted and didn't get back into bad habits of not posting.

Anyway I'll leave you all here, until next time my friends!

Voidy, The Insomniac Writer Who Is Sore From Moving A Ton of Old and New Furniture by Himself.

P.S.

I had an idea for a book, I'll just leave the title down and it should explain it.

The Demon Lord Refuses To Fight The Child Heroes!
