Chapter 39: Pride?

Thankfully she had been lying down, so Bella quickly pretended to be asleep and closed her eyes tightly. Hoping that if he saw her sleeping, he would just shut the door and leave.

Dan walked further into the room dressed in a white tank top and three-quarter khaki shorts. He stopped by the bed to glance down into her face, "I can see you're still awake. You're not a very good actor," He said in amusement. 

"He is there? Oh my God! Is that Dan Williams' voice? Oh my goodness! Please don't hang up! I want to hear him speak!" Joan kept exclaiming.

"Ouch!" She cried when he flicked his finger on her forehead, and she glared at him the moment she opened her eyes and saw him grinning as he signalled for her to follow him out of the room.
