Chapter 135: Old Acquaintance

CHAPTER 135 

Stepping out of one of the stores in the street, Zale took a look around and lowered his gaze back to Pearl. 

"We know his house but we do not know if it is safe to go there."

"I understand you," Pearl noted and blew on her fingers. 

"I feel something amiss. There are eyes on us that shouldn't be," Zale added. His sharp breath fanned her cheeks as his narrowed eyes went straight for hidden places in the market as everyone carried on with their activities. 

"Let us go back to the inn. Tomorrow we shall try out for Korad's house. As for today…" Pearl looked up at him. She knew the feeling as well. He was giving off a certain feeling that reminded her of hidden dangers and how they took her parents from her. 

She pushed every sad thought to the back of her mind and walked side by side with Zale. Once in a while he threw in a joke, talked calmly and made her feel at ease.
