CHAPTER 145 

She had expected Zale to put on a different air the second he met Kye but to her amazement, he did no such thing.

Even Pearl was beginning to suspect things with Kye but seeing how she and Zale's life got entangled she believed in coincidences.

There was no reason not to but with Zale, her sixth senses kicked in as well. It never hurts to be cautious.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was about to ask you the same question. You stay in this village now or did you…" 

His voice trailed off as his gaze shifted from hers to Zale, silently suggesting the obvious. 

It was an inn and she was a young girl with a man. That spoke volumes when it came to morals considering they were not related by blood and there was no ring on her finger.

Pearl picked on the hint quickly and shook her head. "You overthink. He is a friend," she corrected quickly.

"A friend?" Both Zale and Kye questioned in unison.
