Chapter 35: Healed?

CHAPTER 35

By the time the early sun began to rise in the sky, Pearl turned to her left-hand side on the ground where she lay on her cloak, only for her hand to hit something hard. 

Her brows furrowed slightly but her eyes remained closed still. 

"Hmm…" she let out a tired sound in her sleep as her fingers brushed against the hard surface. 

Surprisingly though, she found it smooth enough and kept on touching it. 

"Until when are you going to use me?"

The second that voice resounded in her ears; Pearl's brows knitted slightly. 

She had been too focused on her sleep to even be bothered by what her fingers touched until she heard his voice and like a wave, all of the problems that she faced the previous day came rolling back into her mind. 

Her eyes flew open as her gaze centred on where her hand was. 

His face – the cheeks to be specific.
