First line in the novel is the author telling people to leave if they have complaints. I'd recommend seeking professional help or atleast trying a little exposure therapy if things have gotten this bad for you, to the point you write a novel on a public website which has some of the most discussion opportunities of any online reading app. Either the author has such a severe fear of criticism that he had to spoil the literal first chapter of the book he put effort into writing just to try and alleviate some of that fear, or he's a narcissist with such a tremendous ego he believes that his work is utter perfection and the mere concept of criticism is such blasphemy he has to pre-emptively destroy any notion that he could make a mistake.
