"Mimi, I love you."

After the two of us broke a kiss that we had shared for what felt like hours, Fervis met my gaze with a warm and captivating smile. Her amber eyes shone with the sun's brightness, and even though her blush was visible, she didn't break eye contact with me.

"I love you too, Fervis."

The words left my mouth unconsciously, and as I spoke them, Fervis's eyes widened, revealing a hint of shock plastering her face. Slowly, tears began to well in her eyes and soft and subtle sniffles from the girl emerged.

'Wait, did I do something wrong? Why is she crying?!'

Just as I was reaching to plant my arms on her shoulder as a comforting gesture, Fervis grappled me by my waist and crashed into me. Which sent me tumbling to the ground with a grunt as my body made contact with the hardwood floors.
