In one of the private wards of the hospital, two figures could be seen inside.

On the hospital bed, a young lady laid weakly with her face deathly pale. A white bandage was wrapped around her head. Her usual lively and cheeky expression she would always show to someone was replaced by a frail appearance.

Beside the bed, a young man, whose eyes were glistening and lips trembling, sat with his elbows propped up on the bed. Both of his hands were gently caressing one of the lady's hands. His caress was ever so gentle as if he was afraid that even with the slightest pressure, it would break her.

"My love... Shouko, why... why once again you lie on the bed, like this?" The man's raspy voice echoed quietly in the ward.

He had witnessed it himself, the times the lady he held dear in his heart lying frailly on a sickbed.
