The funeral was scheduled three days later. On that day, many friends and business associates of the Kashino family came to attend the ceremony. The sudden death of the only son of the Kashino family's new patriarch caused quite a stir in the upper-circle in the city. More so when the cause of death was due to a kidnapping incident.
One by one, they offered their condolences. The ceremony was held in a solemn manner as the guests dressed in black entered the hall.
Even though he was old, Grandpa insisted to greet the guests with Kyoya and Ryota at the entrance. He spoke a little with his friends who came as well.
"Grandpa, I'll go to Shouko," Kyoya bent down and whispered to Grandpa, "Yuki said she doesn't look good."
"Go," Grandpa assented with a nod, "Take her to rest."
I hope the portrayal of a Japanese funeral in this chapter and the next is correct. Reading the articles and watching the videos aren't the same as experiencing it in real life. Feel free to correct me :)
