"Shouko, in fact... we have a son."

The secret room fell into silence once the words flowed from Kyoya's mouth. Despite the oppressing silence that suddenly engulfed the room, Shouko felt like the words carried a stormy thunder with them.

"What... Are you joking with me?" Disbelief flashed in her eyes, she unconsciously shaking her head, "Do we have a son? But... why haven't I seen him nor heard about him? Kyoya..."

Shouko's voice turned softer and softer yet her grip on his arms became tighter. She stared at the man whose face was now grim. He looked like he was shrouded in something murky and dark, giving people an unfathomable feeling.

"Yes. We have a son."

The veins in his temple popped out as he closed his eyes. When Kyoya opened them again, Shouko was surprised to see how bloodshot they appeared right now.

"...Kyoya?"

She desperately hoped what she heard from him was just a joke.
