Chapter 5: Chapter 04
After I accepted the proposal, Gaurav sir led me to a room in a different corner of this maize like mansion. I think I would've got lost here if he wasn't guiding me up till here. It was a huge room where different musical instruments were placed. I guess this is the Music Room.
"Music Is Peace Of Mind & Solace For Soul"
This was written as a beautiful calligraphy on the wall right in front of the door. I just don't want to start on the size of the room, you can guess that yourself. Almost every musical instrument was present in the room. I wonder if anyone even use them.
He asked me to show him if I really know how to play a piano. I just sat on seat and sighed deeply sending a quick prayer to God to help me as I haven't played piano since long. I began playing and it came out to be beautiful just like always. I was completely lost in my tune, after it ended, I looked at Mr. Malhotra expectantly but to my surprise, he looked stunned.
"Where did you learn that tune?" He asked seriously which confused me. But anyway, I answered him. "I learned that when I was a kid. I loved to play piano and hence always tried to make a new melody. This one's my favorite."
Honestly, I don't know why but I just can't forget this particular tune. It's like this is stuck in my brain. But I really love this melody. To me, it indicates love and all the emotions related to that word.
I've never experienced love, but whenever I play this tune, it feels like I'm experiencing the pain of love, pain of someone who is an inseparable part of me. Yeah.. This is the effect of this melody on my heart but I guess Mr. Malhotra here is facing the same too. He looks lost. Maybe remembering his late wife. When I asked him why he want a caretaker for his son and why can't his mother take care of him? He told me that his wife, Akshara Malhotra, died a few year backs in an accident.
Nonetheless, He was very much impressed by my skills. "This job belongs to you now but you have one more test to pass befor that" He said. "What test sir?" I enquired.
"You have to make sure my son, Aarav, is comfortable around you or else his uncle won't hesitate even for a minute before kicking you out of this house." He said I (Gaurav) can forgive you a minute but Aarav's 'Uncle' won't even think for a second before making your life hell if you neglected Aarav or his responsibility.
"Is he that scary?" I asked being scared. He just chuckled seeing me scared and said "You can decide that after meeting him personally". He walked ahead and brought me to meet his son, Aarav, in his room.
While entering, he got a call so he signalled me to move ahead before attending the call. I went ahead and saw Aarav's picture on the wall above bed with a guitar of his size. Aarav is a 7 year old, only son of Mr. Gaurav Malhotra. He is innocent yet naughty and stubborn at the same time. When I went to meet him in his room, I went all 'aww' on him. He was drawing something in his art book looking so adorable. How can anyone even neglect him?? He turned his attention from his art book to me when I sat beside him. He looked at me confused and raised his eyebrows as if asking why I'm in his room. I introduced myself to him and then asked him for friendship offering him the chocolate I had in my bag.
I always a keep a chocolate in my bad as I love eating chocolates whenever I'm stressed or feeling low. Me and Aarav, we clicked instantly. We talked about any and everything. I told him about teaching piano and he was pretty excited about it. After a while, Gaurav sir came and asked me if I would like to tour the house for future convenience? I agreed but kept in mind not to gawk over anything.
Mr. Gaurav Malhotra told me when came back after the call he was amused seeing Aarav comfortable around me. Aarav gelled up with me really well. Generally, Aarav was a reserved kid kept to himself except for his father and that 'Uncle' of his. Gaurav sir told me he wanted me to see the mansion as it would help me in future if Aarav wanted to go anywhere. He, then, gave me the tour of thier mansion.
The masion had 15 rooms, 4 of which are currently used as there bedrooms by him, Aarav, his brother and friend. Yuvraj , the guy I met earlier was there friend. He lives here with Malhotras and he's is like a family to them. There are a total of 2 balconies in the mansion. One is situated at the end of this corridor and ither one is in his brother's room. Other 5 are guest rooms and remaining rooms are converted into store room, library or music room.
He told me I can join from tomorrow but I should here at sharp 8 am as Aarav have to leave for school at about 9 and leave after 7 pm. He also mentioned about staying longer in case Aarav needed me to which I nodded, gladly. Off course who would want to miss the opportunity to be with someone a cute as Aarav.

I was on my way back to our apartment. Godd! I'm sooo happy! Finally I got the job with a handsome salary. Now let's see how that oldie kick's me out of apartment. But why do I think I'm forgetting something? What it could be? Anyways, Sophie would be so happy to liste.. OH MY GOD!! I forgot about SOPHIA!! I quickly checked my phone and saw about 57 missed calls and 32 messages, all from Sophie. I'm gone now. I just hope she isn't on her way here with the cops. Yes, She can do that.
I quickly dialed Sophie's number and she answered in just a half ring! "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU ELENA!! I called like thousands of times!! Why weren't you picking up my calls damnit??" She bursted on me as soon as she picked up the call.
"Sophie relax! Just tell me you haven't called the cops yet??" "I would have called them if you were even a minute more late! Are you alright?? SPEAK UP NOW!!" She asked camly and then roared on the of the phone. "I'm so sorry Sophie! I'm alright. It's just that Mr. Malhotra arrived late and then the interview took alot of time. My phone was on silent mode I didn't heard your call" I replied guiltily.
She was already worried about me coming here for the interview and then I got busy with Mr. Malhotra and Aarav that I didn't even realized the time. "This much time for just a freaking house caretaking interview?? Who takes 4 hours for a simple house working interview?" She asked a bit calmly this time.
Keyword: A bit.
"No.. Uhh.. I didn't got the caretaker's job but they offered me another job"
"What job Eli? Just tell me they didn't misbehaved with you? I swear I'll drag them all to the court. I won't lea.. " "Hey!! Relax I'm fine nothing happened.. I'm on my way back to home. I'll tell you everything after reaching okay?" I told her. "Okay Eli, I'm waiting. Take care".
After cutting the call I hired and auto and reached home.
I told Sophia everything whatever happened there. She was a bit suspicious about their hideous identity but when I told her Mr. Malhotra was behaving decently, she agreed brushing off her thoughts. She told me she was happy for me. We ordered my favourite chocolate cake and celebrated my NEW JOB.

While Elena was busy with her celebrations, two men at MALHOTRA MANSION were sitting in a secret room behind library shelves discussing about whatever happened today.
"What do you think?"
"I don't know, I was confused seeing her"
"Do you think it could be what we are thinking?"
"But how is that even possible?"
"Patience Brother.. She'll be working here. We have to know whether what we think is true or just a coincidence before taking any action"
"Yes, A single mistake and everything will be destroyed"
"Elena Singh, Let's see what you've got for us"
Both smirked seeing Elena's picture pinned on the target board.
