Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Araca

"Are you Okay?" I was awakened to a warm, voice. "Mom," I mumbled as my eyes slowly opened, still blurry from the early morning. "No, I am not your mother." My eyes came into focus as I realized the figure hovering above me had a strange yet familiar face, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I sat up in a frenzy. I was laying on a cold bed with sky blue sheets and snow-white pillows, and standing in front of me was a woman. She looked to be in her early twenty's, with long, auburn brown hair put in a bun, Brown eyes, pale white skin, and a round face. She wore a grass green sweater with rolled-up sleeves, blue jeans, and black boots. "Who are you, where am I!" I Yelled with a stutter in my voice.

She took a step back out of shock. "My name is Araca I found you lying in the snow not far from my house, you were out cold I just thought I should help you" Araca explained. " Why wh-what happened why was I out cold." I thought back and I remembered the horrors. My brain went into several phases of denial in the span of a few seconds.

I sat, running it over in my head, imprisoning my thoughts within clouds of grief.

Hours went by. I don't have a purpose anymore, My parents are gone and my siblings were, no wa- wait that's it I need to go back find my brother and sister! If I survived they could have too! I thought, perking up with an ounce of hope rejuvenated back into me. I stood to examine the room closer and Araca was no longer there, I hadn't even realized that she has left. The door was charcoal black, the walls were a shade of dark blue, like the ocean, though it's a miracle the walls were even visible with all the useless clutter. There were antique pots, old CDs, what looked like some old storage boxes but no windows, I couldn't even look out a window to find where I was.

I twisted the brass doorknob with a flick of my wrist. I cautiously stepped through the door. I examined the darkroom. It looked like it had been abandoned for years. The wooden floor was old, the blue wallpaper was falling apart and peeling, dust and cobwebs were scattered throughout the room, and the windows were barricaded with wooden planks. "The hell is this place." The last thing I noticed was Araca sitting on the couch looking at me.

"Hi," Araca said as she stood up. "where am I," I snapped at her. "This is my home," Araca explained. "Your home? This looks like it's ripped straight from paranormal activities." A sad look grew on Araca's face. "Well, I'll be seeing you. Thanks for the help and all, but I need to go." I then turned towards the blood-red door before swiftly leaving out of the surprisingly unlocked door. I heard Araca call out something, but I didn't care. I was determined to find my siblings.

I recognized the street I was on. "This is the abandoned house near my high school." From there I knew my way back. While running I noticed many people using and taking advantage of Androids, I used to be disgusted by the kind people who do that, I used to treat andorids with respect but after that night my perspective has changed. I arrived after running for 20 minutes, out of breath. I slowly made my way inside.

Still, there were my parents seemingly untouched from when I had last saw them. I begrudgingly walked past and up my wooden stairs. I made a sharp left and arrived at my brother's room. My 20-year-old sister was visiting at the time from college and stayed in the guest bed beside my brother.

I twisted the doorknob not ready for what awaited me behind this door. I entered, nothing. It looked untouched. Nobody, no blood. My face lit up with hope, they could still be alive somewhere. There was no way one android could clean up every spec of evidence in this room, and if they could then why not clean downstairs too. This was my thought process.

I then ran out in the hallway and down the stairs. I then knelt next to my parents to say goodbye as I couldn't last night. Suddenly, Araca walled in from the front door. "Why are you here?" I sighed. " I can help you get revenge," Araca said.

"What?" I looked up. "I knew your parents, they knew the creators of the androids, Omnistruct would eventually come after them, so they told me to take care of you," Araca explained.

"Why would Omnistruct want to hurt my parents." I stood up in curiosity. "They were involved in some... business deals looking to take down Omnistruct," Araca explained. "Why?"

"They believed in the life of androids."

I looked away again. If they have life in them, then how could Luna do that. She was our family. James thought.

I stood up but kept my eyes on my mom and dad. "We have to call the police. Do you have a phone?"

"No, we can't."

"Why the hell not?"

"The police force in his city is rotten, bought out by Omnistruct. If we call them they'll just cover it up and hold us until another Omnistruct assassin comes or even they might do it themselves. They wouldn't let this get out. Omnistruct would be forced to shut down if word got out that an Android killed its owner. I'm still surprised that they didn't send anyone to," Araca paused. "Dispose of the bodies."

"Then what do we do?"

"I told you, I can help you get revenge."

I thought over what Araca has said, I can help you get revenge, she had said. I didn't know what exactly that entailed but seeing my mom and dad like that, I wanted revenge on Luna who betrayed our family of free will. Even if she was told she, still had a choice, Omnistruct can't manually control their Androids.

I could not do nothing that was certain. "O-okay," Escaped my lips.

"Then let's head back I'll show you how."

James gulped. "We still need to bury them?"

"They might suspect someone knows about it the-."

"I don't care! They're my parents." James yelled. Araca stared at James then nodded.

James then began to pick up his mother's body.
