Chapter 2: The Start of Something New (1)

Inside a small cafe in the middle of the city, Baozhai set her coffee cup down, staring out the window at all the busy people rushing by on the streets. There was a small number of people in the cafe, everyone busy socializing with their friends and coworkers; some college students typing away on their computers, textbooks open on the table, multiple coffee cups next to them. Some of the people glanced secretly glanced at Richen, curious as to who she was. She stood out, in a way that some people couldn't quite describe. She wasn't wearing anything unusual, a knee length navy blue skirt and a white button up blouse topped with a matching suit jacket. Half of her raven, waist-length hair was pinned back and her bangs were parted slightly. Overall she looked professional, almost like an office worker. What made her stand out was her cold but elegant aura. It made people feel like she was not ordinary, like she was on a level that no one could match. Baozhai pretended not to notice the weird glances she was getting. After all, she was used to it by now. She had no reason to hide from people so she never tried changing her aura to blend in with a crowd. Or at least that's what her parents thought. She smirked as she recalled how her parents thought that they were clever, assigning people to follow her and report back to them. Little did they know, that they only knew what she allowed them to know. She would usually go to busy places in the city in order to lose the people trailing her. She had a bit of a skill in blending in to the crowds although at the moment she wasn't doing so because she had already lost her parents' advisors a few hours before. She sighed solemnly thinking about how she had evaded them hoping to go on a blind date. To her amusement, her blind date thought it would be alright to stand her up. She picked up her phone, dialing the number that she had been given by her friend Jinsoo. She had only agreed to the date because the guy had been bothering Jinsoo so much that Jinsoo had begged Baozhai to help him out.

"You have reached the voicemail of..." She turned her phone off and grabbed her cup of coffee taking a sip. She considered her next decision, thinking hard, weighing her options. She could try calling again although she felt that her pride wouldn't let her. So she picked up her phone and called Jinsoo.
