Chapter 44: Chapter 43 : Trial Exams III
Jinn deflected the arrows with his sword, and attempted to block the incoming Wind Vortex by his brother Zankoku, who had surrounding something in between yellow and orange, like aura.
The combined forces that of the controlled power and aura of Kor and the Speed Form. His Wind Vortex too, it wasn't a white/light blue orb of compressed air like usual. This time it had tints of orange in it, from the leaking and poured in energy.
Being slower than his brother, Jinn was struck by the Wind Vortex ability and a moment later, a batch of non-magic arrows pierced into his back, stunning him even more. He yelped.
Zankoku went to punch Jinn to knock him onto the ground, yet due to the heightened perception he has, he instead avoided an incoming fireball, jumping back to Atreus.
They stood on one and as Nova and Sasha opposed them, with Satoru and Aza standing on one of the ends as well.
"Ain't this a lovely stand off, how many points are y'all on?" Nova asked, having his blade at the ready.
Satoru took out his tanto blade and carefully looked at each of the opponents "4 and yourself?"
"1 but that don't matter. In the end, I will win." with his free hand he performed a sign and teleported right to Jinn, kicking him to the ground, immediately going to take his band off.
Satoru and Aza stood where they were, intentionally not moving and reacting whereas Zankoku rushed at Nova with a Wind Vortex forming above palm. He was very close to him.
[Speed Technique : Flash Step]
Even with such great speed, Nova was capable of outspeeding him, appearing in multiple mirages around him.
Atreus shot out multiple magic arrows of multiplication at their opponent. The blade imbued with the fires of hell, Nova cut them down and appeared in front of Zankoku, kicking him at Atreus and taking off the band from Jinn.
Nova and Sasha now have 2 points.
Sasha performed multiple signs with her hands, afterwards pointing at Zankoku and Atreus. The branches of the trees from the forest around them began to act and expand, moving in on him.
Atreus rushed at her, avoiding all the large branches incoming with such great and almost described as gentle movements, using his bow he drew and arrow and fired it directly between her eyes.
In the last moment, she dodged it and not even letting her regain her balance, Zankoku appeared behind her and clawed the back end of her knee, making her fall down to the ground on the other knee and wince.
He performed a semi front flip into the sky and from his mouth, like Kor, fired an orb bomb down at her.
Sasha, in a last ditch effort, used her divine energy in an attempt to raise a wall of trees stuck together with no leaves to block it.
Zankoku landed and quickly circled around to finish her and take the band. Nova had different plans as he drop kicked Zankoku out of nowhere into the forest, got up and his blazing hot sword swirled through the air and deflecting the arrows incoming at him.
He got down into a quick stance and grinned, widening his eyes a little to appear more menacing and rushing at Atreus with his follow up sword technique.

Upon closing the distance, avoiding the arrows incoming at him, Nova performed a horizontal slash, clashing with Atreus' bow and having it flung out of his grip.
"We're simply gonna stand here?" Satoru asked, leaning against the tree and crossing his arms.
"It seems so.." Aza responded, observing the fight.
Nova swung his blade and cut Atreus' shin, proceeding to throw the sword at his chest. By the time Atreus caught it, his opponent fired hellflame from his palms and burnt Atreus, knocking him back up against a tree.
He formed a sign with one of his hands, rushing at his opponent. Trying to move, Atreus was grabbed by the tree's roots.
Nova formed a fist and punched Atreus in the stomach, taking off his orange band.
Sasha and Nova now held 3 points.
Instantly, he gripped his sword and rushed at where Sasha was but by the time he got there, her red band was being stripped by Zankoku.
Quickly, he formed a sign and multiple fireballs that nearly instantly turned into dragon heads began to land near his opponent and hit him, sending him sliding back.
Nova rushed at him and threw a punch at him, but he dodged it.
"He's faster now?"
Zankoku threw a right hook at Nova yet he caught it, then the left and that too. He opened his mouth and grabbed onto the hands of his opponent, forming an orb bomb and was quick to discharge it.
Nova ducked under it just barely, got down to the ground using the moment of the motion, pulled his foe down onto him, catching him with a his right foot quickly and exploding it up, catapulting him up into the sky and placing his palm at him, firing hellflame.
Responding quickly to it, he formed a sign with only one of his hands and teleported down on the ground to one of the previously dropped kunai.
Thinking he had Nova in a corner, he felt that he might win, creating dual Wind Vortex's in both of his hands and going to slam it onto him in the ground.
A portal opened below the God of Hell and he fell into it, closing it up quickly. The ground was struck and shattered by the Dual Wind Vortex ability.
Zankoku quickly formed multiple signs for a technique he's been practicing for. Nova instantly recognized it as he knew it too but...
[Speed Technique : Time Rush]
A trail of yellow like thunder left from his aura was in the sky as for the next few moments, Zankoku had received a tremendous boost in speed. So tremendous it pushed Nova into the Demon Aura state, having to use the purple aura.
He raced to Zankoku quickly, ramming into him with his shoulder. He rolled and was thrown off, but despite so, formed a sign mid-rolling away, teleporting to Sasha's body and ripping off the band the fastest he can.
"Haha! 1 point against you two is plenty for me!" Zankoku exclaimed
Nova looked at Satoru for a moment and proceeded to turn his head back towards Zankoku, grabbing his sword back.
"Impressive. You're able to hold your own, there's no doubt about it. But you're still not on my level."
Vanishing immediately, Zankoku looked around, only for him to be punched and sent flying into the forest. Going to recover, he flew into a portal and Nova elbowed him into the ground, cracking it entirely.
He quickly followed up with a thunder beam into his shoulder and performed a sign that summoned a large radius of trees and large branches that hit overwhelmed Zankoku, despite him firing off an orb bomb and destroying some of it.
And just like that, he was out.
Nova went up to him and tore the orange band off.
"Now we're tied, Satoru. 4 and 4."
Satoru stopped leaning against the tree : "Aza, you wait here okay?" she nodded with a smile.
"If you interfered, you could have won. So why didn't you?" Nova asked him, having his trusty sword at the ready.
"Who stops a chef in the middle of their cooking?" he said, picking up Jinn's blade from the ground and both of them subtly circling one another now.
"Ah I see. You intend to fight me with a sword? Satoru, you know who is superior in that area of expertise and besides, you don't even know how to wield a blade.."
Satoru looked down at the blade and used [Electrify], turning the blade entirely thunder like blue.
"Oh? I wonder just what kind of skills you picked up during your absence. I was really hoping to fight you as equals, but I intend to win this entire thing."
"Hmpf. If that's the case, then I won't hold back."
"I was hoping to use this in the tournament, but chances are small that I'll be placed against you so why not use it when I have this opportunity."
He stopped and grinned, having the Demonic Aura fade and suddenly a black one take him entirely over as his skin turned gray, similar to that of a ghoul and his facial expressions changed to that of a literal demon and his eyes glowed red, even having some wings which might have served only for appearance but without mistake..
