Chapter 20: Chapter 19 : Cedarfall Village
They all ran towards the place where they had to go, each team surpassing the other. Adrenaline and expectations of fighting large and powerful monsters crossed their minds, having them forget about their stamina and just continue on.
"Why are we deployed when it's in Nimbu nation? Wouldn't it be easier for them to send out their own people?" asked Zankoku between breaths.
"It would, but the leaders are all dumb politicians who don't particularly have shit for brains." quickly replied Karoi, effortlessly, as if he wasn't even running.
Nova got side to side with them and inserted himself into their conversation. "Surely there's a plan of action, so what is it?" just like Karoi, he said it effortlessly too.
"Infiltrate, find out what happened, kill the monsters. Simple as that." their sensei said while vaulting over a boulder.
"Karoi. What happened to Satoru...?" asked Nova, with a hint of worry in his tone, still going alongside him
He was hesitant to say, too hesitant even.. "I..." he stopped himself. "He was on a mission and from what I heard, he had to battle someone strong but ended up losing." the sensei lied, yet it went unnoticed by Zankoku and Nova.
"Oh... I hope he gets better soon." said Nova, circling the tree in front of him.

After a few breaks and catching their breaths, they arrived to the forest surrounding Cedarfall village and scouted it out, seeing the large buildings but no one on the streets, not a single soul, not even monsters of any sorts.
They were left in wonder and question, but decided for each squad to take one of the 4 directions of the village. Kuga's squad took west and began there, Twist's squad got south, Primal's got east and Zenkai got north.
Each squad was up for it, and they moved up locations through the leaves and bushes, remaining hidden from anything that's in the large village before them.
Karoi, Nova and Zankoku entered Cedarfall.
It seemed chilly, abandoned, similar to that of a ghost town... The energy signatures were all there, according to Karoi's sensory capabilities.
Hearing a faint noise in front of them, they were ready for what'll come at them. The sound kept increasing gradually, as if it was coming at them at a quick pace.
Now being able to make up the sound, it sounded if someone was destroying walls, when the next moment a student of Zenkai's, Masato, was full of blood and had his arm cut off and his eyes twitching.
They rushed to him and got down to check what happened though before they could even ask him, he uttered a single word... "...Run."
Looking at from the direction he came from, he saw someone walk through the destroyed wall holes and eyeball them, thinking how they're easy and unimportant kills.
The man wore what seemed to be a black kimono top with a white trim, a black bakama bottom, a black haori, spikey black hair, and the eyes of the demon eyed clan.
His crimson red eyes glew as from the dark houses came rushing the villagers towards them, tripping over each other, all with the goal of exterminating them.
Karoi punched the ground, sending out a wave of True Thunder which started out to go frontwards of himself and quickly he made it go all the way around himself, stunning and electrifying the illusion-placed residents and knocking them out before they got to him.
"Impressive. So you're the one that they call 'Primal'." quickly said the demon eyed clan member in front of them, crossing his arms.
Without saying anything, Karoi instantly fired a thunder beam right at his face. He swerved it, still having his arms crossed and making his eyes glow harder once again, as from behind them emerged a large beast, having 8 tails.
"Great..." thought the sensei to himself, feeling annoyed and rolling his eyes.
Before it could initiate a bomb orb, Karoi rushed at it, blasting it with a thunder beam and gaining it's attention, leading it away from the village quickly, but also leaving Zankoku and Nova there who understood what they had to do...
Instantly, Zankoku was surrounded by the yellow aura of the Speed Form whilst Nova cloaked himself in a purple aura, which still is unknown what it actually is.
"It's a 2v1, surrender now." said Nova, being confident that they can beat him.
The one in front of them began laughing, afterwards looking back at them with a smirk that formed on his face : "2v1? You really think I came here alone?!" he yelled out to them.
A familiar face to Zankoku jumped down from the building behind him, landing on his feet and standing back up, having a smirk on his face too.
"Nobu." said the boy, locking his eyes on him.
This suddenly became anticlimactic and made Nova wonder if there were any more of them here, even coming to the conclusion that that is most likely the case, making him uneasy now.
Still having them two in his sight, Nova quickly formed a sign with his hand and multiple large trees and tree branches began to form from the ground, targeting them and destroying a few of the blocks and dozens of buildings in an attempt to fling them up into the air.
Being caught by this unexpectedly, Nobu was flung up while his companion, Tomio, ran at Nova, swerving and evading his ability.
"Zankoku, can you go at it alone?!" yelled out the new God of Hell to him, hearing a quick yelling response back : "Yeah! I'll take Nobu!"
Immediately locking in, Nova punched the ground and looked back up at Tomio who was quickly closing the distance between the two of them.
From his punch, dozens of demons dark red demons were summoned and all ran at his opponent. With Nova creating a portal behind himself and leap of faith falling into it, with another portal appearing up above Tomio, about 20m above him.
Accelerating, Tomio ran up to each of the demons and stabbed their 'brains' with a kunai.
Nova placed both of his arms down, facing the palms at his opponent and fired a Hellflame Beam, which he back handspringed out of in time, leaving and entirely burning the ground where he stood.
"I've never seen such abilities! Just what is your name?!" yelled out the demon eyed opponent to Nova, still upholding a grin on his face.
He wasn't responding, but instead threw multiple regular kunai at him mid-air in a batch, which he easily moved out of the way from, causing them to land into the ground, and launched a large fireball up at him.
Upon connecting with Nova, he vanished and appeared out from a teleportation kunai that was in the batch of the kunai he threw beforehand.
Having his blade drawn after completing a quick sign, he instantly cloaked it in fire and aimed to slice him in half, to sever his torso off from his legs.
"It's thanks to Satoru that I was able and still am able to combine techniques such as this... Thank you, friend... All I need to do now is kill him!"
Tomio reacted by jumping up and dodging the blade slice, kicking Nova's face with his heel and making him slide and stumble back, into a roll before getting back up.
"What the fuck... No matter.. As long as I don't gaze into those red eyes, I'll be fine... Thank you, Satoru. No matter if you're not present, you're still helping me!" thought Nova to himself
Feeling his energy go through him, with the blood of his mother that was from the speed clan, he grasped that energy and held it in his metaphorical mind, tightening the grasp on it until finally being able to entirely understand it.
The boy, Nova, was a strong child, one who was told by his parents that he was destined for greatness and that he'll put the end to the evil of this world, and that's what he now believes.
Speed Technique : Flash Step.
Leaving slight after-images behind him, Nova performed it on Tomio, but his special red eyes were quick to follow, distinguishing which one he is and where he is at in every given moment during the event of the ability.
Not knowing that, Nova leapt at Tomio, aiming to split his brains in half. Tomio performed a sign and launched a large fireball that instantly took the shape of a flaming dragon at the boy.
Right before it's impact, Nova substituted himself with a demon, now being behind him and with a determined look on his face swinging the blade and cutting him across his back.
Tomio let out a grunt, quickly turning around and front kicking Nova, who tried to block it with his sword, through multiple buildings.
He began walking towards where he sent him flying, when suddenly sensing something traveling at him.
Ducking under it and turning around, he saw Kazumi and Aza. One cursed with the burden of the demon eyes and another that's blessed with the eyes of purity.
