I was sprinting on all fours through the forest. Accompanied by my friend Allison. I saw her fur, a perfect solid white color move up and down as her legs treaded ground. I have always been jealous of her because I have fur like a calico cat. It has splotches of black, brown, white, blonde and pretty much any natural color of hair you can think of. When I was a cub everyone always bullied me for it and called me a mutt but Allison was always there to stand up for me. Of course many of the pack were mad because she was like the princess of the pack. Her father was the Alpha but that doesn't matter anymore. The pack is gone. We had been attacked by a huge pack of rogues, which are half wolves but stuck in their wolf form. They had set the village on fire. Me and Allison were the only ones to survive. I remember seeing the ashes on the ground and the lifeless bodies scattered across the ground of my pack's village after it had all happened. For some reason it didn't faze me though. They never did anything for me. All they did was bully me and call me a mutt or an orphan. I mean I am an orphan. I never even knew my parents but they didn't have to rub it in.
"They're gaining on us! Penelope, pick up the pace!" Allison announced between breaths. Oh yeah. Back to us sprinting through the woods. We were running away from a couple of rogues. I looked back at them. Their boney bodies made me sad. I had lost a lot of weight as well, so I could relate to them. This part of the forest was bare and had very few food sources.
"Faster, Penny! Don't look back!" She repeated to me.
"Ok, ok, sorry." I quickly responded to her demands, although my feet no longer had feeling in them. It kinda felt like I was floating but at the same time it felt like my legs would give out at any time. I just hope the rogues' do before mine do. All of a sudden I hear commotion from behind. The rustling of leaves and loud growls catch my attention. I heard a loud thud and after that I heard yelping. I turned back around. The rogues never made sounds like that.
"Penelope, you can't just st-," she paused mid-sentence as she saw what I was seeing. Three large muscular wolves tackling the rogues that had been chasing us. One was a dark midnight black while one was a solid hazelnut brown. The last one was a dark grey shade. I would almost say black but not quite. The black wolf finished one of them and turned his head towards me and Allison with fierce bloodshot eyes. They glowed a bright color of green.
"We are not rogues! Please don't hurt us!" Allison pleaded as he took a few steps towards us.
The wolf chuckled under his breath, "You sure look like some of them to me. Thin, helpless, lost and stuck in your wolf form. Isn't that what a rogue is?" His words angered me. Making a sudden wave of confidence to wash over me.
"We are not lost. We know exactly where we are and we are certainly not stuck in our wolf forms." I informed him. Allison looked at me shocked. I never spoke up for myself. I was always too shy. He took a few more steps towards us. It was then when I noticed his paws were white. Like he had mittens on.
"Prove it." He commanded, standing with pride and dominance. Yep, here comes my anxiety, creeping around the corner. Allison transforms into her human form as soon as he finishes his words. I was also jealous of her human form. She had long almost bleach blonde hair that draped over her shoulders and reached her waistline. She had crystal blue eyes that almost always seemed to glow. She was adorned with bleached jean shorts and a light pink crop top.
"Come on, Penny," she looked at me ready for me to transform as well. I shifted, showing my human form. I had short dirty blonde hair. I didn't mind the length. I actually wanted it to be short. My eyes are two colors. One is bleached blue while the other is a deep brown. The cubs in my pack would always tease me by saying, "Ghost eye, black hole." Over and over in a mocking rhythm. I always wear my favorite panda shirt and some black ripped jeans.
"Why are you guys out here in rogue territory than?" The black wolf questioned.
Allison quickly responded, "Our pack was attacked by rogues and killed. We didn't have any choice but to live out here."
"Come with us. My name's Cole by the way."
He transformed into his human form as well. He was shorter than I thought he would be, but he definitely had a strong muscular build. His face didn't match his body though. He had a cute baby face with black bangs that almost covered his green eyes. He wore a black hoodie and some ripped jeans. The other wolves transformed revealing their also muscular bodies. The once brown wolf was much taller than Cole and had curly hair that was shaved on the sides. He wore a red t-shirt and a pair of baggy jeans. The once grey wolf was also short like Cole and had dark grey hair. He wore a white shirt and a pair of joggers.
"I'm Allison," she put her hand out to greet him as he did the same.
"My name is Penelope. You can just call me Penny if you prefer that though." I introduced myself and he shook my hand as well.
Hey, my name is Anna. I'm new to this platform. I will try to update this novel once a day.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
