Chapter 8: The nemesis
Saying my words of encouragement, I saw his expressions changing. Michael sighed and finally agreed to help Amelia out. But he clarified, "I am doing this, just to get both of our license back. I am not doing this for Amelia. " I nodded, then thought for a second and finally said, "You should change her contact name in your phone. Believe me, it wouldn't be good if she sees the name you have saved. "
Michael panicked a little, while wiping the sweat from his forehead. He changed the name from Pure Evil to 'Sweet Amelia '. The change was like from sky high to down to Earth. After our car was dealt with, we decided to go to the address Amelia had texted both of us.
When we reached there, it was night. Michael and I, walked to the back of the car and picked up guns. Michael picked up a box and passports. I have no idea why he did that. We walked up the stairs to the room, or safe house Amelia was in, with Darius.
Michael pressed the doorbell. There was a buzzing sound from the bell. A second later, the door cracked open, and Amelia's face came into view. But the thing was that, she had her gun pointed at Michael, since he was the closest to the door. And he was also the nearest to the cracked open door. Michael was stunned at first, but then he said, "You might as well complete the job. "
Amelia closed the door, and we could hear the rattling of chains. Then the door opened again. Amelia moved a few steps away, so that Michael could get inside. When she saw me, she smiled at me. I hugged her and said, "Looks like, they gave you a heavy job?" It was mostly because of her tired looking expression.
She sighed and said, "Far from it. But great to see you too. " I smiled. Michael just snorted and asked, "Why am I here, Amelia?" Amelia sighed as she locked the door, and said, "A high value transport. "
Michael immediately said, "Here's the thing, I don't do any high value things. Now I am more like mid- level *blah blah blah* attorney *blah blah* Why do you think that is?"
I couldn't help but sigh. Amelia looked at Michael and said, "Seriously Michael. " I knew where this talk was going to end at. I guess that's also one of the advantages when you get transversed into a movie world. And like I had guessed they said the exact same dialogues. Michael said, "You used me to climb up to your position in Interpol. " He was angry, that was clear from his expression. "I was here.. ", Michael said, as his hand was high.. Then he continued, "Then I opened up to you. It was the first time I had ever revealed the name of my client to anyone. Why wouldn't I? I loved you. And now.. I am here, and the dead guy's here. " They continued arguing. Amelia couldn't take it anymore, and she angrily said, "I never used you. I just left you. "
This made Michael to shut up. Amelia continued, "I couldn't be with you, when you blamed me for something that I never did. "
Michael then pointed at a room, and said, "The transport is there. " Not very coincidentally, Amelia said the same words, at the exact same time. Michael and I walked towards the room. Just when Michael was about to knock on the closed door, the door opened, and a familiar bald face appeared before us. He said, "Is that blood dude.. " But he realised who stood before him. Michael couldn't help but mutter, "What the fk?" Darius pointed the gun at Michael and Michael immediately made him drop the gun. Though it took a lot of effort, but he was successful at that. I sighed as I watched both of them fighting. Amelia looked at me, watching them fighting. She asked, "Was this the reason, you told me to not tell Michael about Darius?" I nodded and said, "They have got some... Issues. And believe me, if you were to know some of the things, you might find them funny. "
I sighed and stood up from my position. I walked near the fighting duo. I dodged their hands and legs, and directly punched both of them on their face. Because Darius had lost a lot of blood, he lost consciousness, while Michael just stumbled a little. "What the fk? Why would you do that?", he muttered in pain. I replied with a serious face, "Because my friend Michael Bryce wasn't thinking straight. " He then argued, how Darius was his nemesis. He had been against him many times. I listened to him patiently. Amelia immediately said, "Help me out with this one please. " Michael instantly replied, "I can't. Why don't you use your Interpol. " She angrily replied back, "Because there is a mole. I have lost twelve good officers because of that. " Michael immediately replied "Good? I think they should be nice. Yeah, nice. And what would I get by doing this?"
Amelia thought for a second and said, "You would get back your license and enjoy being elite. " Michael snorted and said, "You don't have that power. "
Amelia said, "But I do have connections. " Michael lacked trust in her, so he asked, "Why should I trust you?" Amelia walked closer to Michael and said, "Because I have never lied to you. "
Then they talked french a little. I was a bit weak at french, so I couldn't understand most of it.
"Alright, enough of your chit chat. Michael we are doing this job. We would get our license back. I know you want nothing more than that. ", I spoke, immediately stopping the couple's french talk.
Amelia nodded to me and then left, leaving Michael, me and Darius alone.
Mike couldn't help but ask, "Why would you do that?" I sighed and said, "Even you are doing that.. You never accepted the fact that you still love Amelia. It is pretty clear that you love her, and it is obviously clear that she loves you too. But just because you think that she had used you, your relationship had been to what it is now.. "
"He says the truth. ", Darius, who was unconscious a few moments ago, suddenly spoke.
"Son of a bitch. ", cursed Michael.
