Katie made it out of the dungeon only to be greeted by the sight of an average-sized Kyle. Despite the scowl on the beta alpha's face, a well of happiness bloomed inside her.

As she got closer, she caught sight of vanishing red painful blotches on his face. By the time she'd reached him, they were gone, erasing all evidence of a fistfight, "Caden pommeled you again, didn't he?"

"I honestly don't see why you had to go and cut my power in half. I was doing fine on my own," Kyle grumbled.

The Queen groaned, "I've already explained this a million times. If I didn't find a second beta alpha, the power would break your Spiritual Vessel and you'd be in the same state I was in two years ago. You would die! Now did you come here to complain or was there a reason?"
