Jetaime held her in his arms right in time as their eyes lock on each other. it was like a force connecting their eyes, there was a constant clash that takes place between them.
He found her black eyes rather intriguing, only a few people in Zalvon have black eyes if not close to zero perhaps it was one of the things that caught his attention.
Jaelyn couldn't believe Jetaime could be a whole different person. Sweet, kind, and extremely handsome, for a second she thought he was an imposter, he was nothing like the rumors and what she had seen when they first met at the wedding ceremony.
She stares at him and smiles gracefully unknowingly, the brightest smile he had ever seen for as long as he could remember. Jetaime was mesmerized by her smile.
"Really, you were really screaming out in pain earlier," Jetaime hissed taking her hand and gently putting her middle finger in his mouth and licking it slowly.
Jaelyn couldn't help but stare at him and was moved by his act. Jetaime took his time on her hand and bows air on it. "Now you can go to sleep," he said taking off his hand around her waist with his other hand holding her hand.
Jaelyn suddenly remembers she is just a replacement and shouldn't get too close or have any kind of feelings towards him, she thought her sister would be happy to know the monstrous king is actually nice and handsome and nothing like what the rumors had it.
"Okay," Jaelyn shyly replies pulling her hand away and stepping away from him, she quickly walks to the bed and halts.
"Where will you sleep then?" she asked looking at him. Jetaime's lips curl up finding her cute reaction interesting.
He tilts his head motioning he will also be sleeping on the same bed. "What! No way and see the mess you made there," Jaelyn said pointing to the blood stain on the bed.
Jetaime is surprised she doesn't know why the blood stain was important. "There are no other beds and it's just one blanket, it gets very cold at midnight beside the bed is big we can both share." Jaelyn wasn't pleased with the idea.
"That side is yours and this side is mine," Jetaime says dividing the bed.
"No, I don't know how to share my bed, why is there only one blanket here, and its very light too," Jaelyn complains sweetly.
"Why should there be more blankets?" Jetaime says as he furrows his eyebrow.
"Why not, to keep one warm of course," she replied innocently staring at him with a confused face.
"The room is meant for such purpose that a blanket is not needed," Jetaime said again confusing her.
"Huh, what then do you use to keep you warm?" she asked.
"Our bodies, when they can together produce a strong heat, are a better option than a blanket," Jetaime said studying her cute reaction and smiling.
"I see, you can sleep on the bed I will sleep on the bare floor besides I'm used to the cold," Jaelyn spat as she sits on the floor about to lie down.
He stares at her in utmost surprise. "I mean, it's fine my body adjusts perfectly well with the cold so...so you…" Jaelyn hissed trying to explain herself, a true princess wouldn't want to lay on the bare floor with her delicate body, of course, she can't withstand the cold but she is not Oaklyn she has gone through much worse things.
Without a word, Jetaime walks to her and carries her from the floor in a bridal style, and set her on the bed. In his mind, Jaelyn is not comfortable being close to him and she was willing to torture herself to sleep on the floor.
"You can have the bed, I can at least sit here right?" Jetaime asked pointing to the edge of the bed, Jaelyn nods as she rolls over to the extreme end.
Jetaime smiled helping her with the blanket, he then sat on the bed and leans his head on the walls keeping a reasonable distance between them.
Jaelyn had always been on guard even when she is asleep, there were times when someone intentional release mice and sometimes snakes into her room just to torment her since then she never had a deep sleep.
Neither of them was used to sharing a room with someone much more than a bed. Jaelyn tried her best not to roll and toss on the bed to find the perfect posture to sleep but couldn't help it.
Jetaime remains calm shutting his eyes and folding his arms around his chest. It was the longest night in the life of Jaelyn and Jetaime, aside from not being able to sleep at all, Jetaime ended with a stiff neck and Jaelyn's swollen eyes.
"My king, my queen are you up can we come in now?" a voice said outside the door, Jetaime rolled over immediately falling on Jaelyn on the bed. "Ah…" Jaelyn tried to yell waking up from her short wink when she felt a human touch.
"Shhh,"
Jetaime hissed covering her mouth with one hand. "It's morning," he whispered putting his mask back on,
"What do we do now? Demelza had said that old witch will stick her finger…" Jaelyn whispered feeling ashamed to say what the old woman did to her in the name of inspecting her body.
"She is not a witch, call her grandma Yina. And where did she stick her finger at? you can tell me," Jetaime asked with a soft smile.
"Grandma my foot, you should know barring she is the one that gets your women ready for your bed. Anyway, how do we escape this one too?" Jaelyn hissed, she only wants to survive.
she survives the wedding night and wishes to survive the aftermath as well. "Relax, Byron and Demelza will handle everything," Jetaime whispered, she nods and let out a deep breath, since the king believes they can handle it she has nothing to worry about.
"My king we are coming in," the old lady repeated after she didn't hear any response from them.
