Chapter 41: Damn the Rules

Hudson’s POV

I race through the moonlit forest, my wolf form swiftly navigating the familiar trails. The memory of Brooke's unsettling meeting with the Alpha plays on a loop in my mind. Despite the urgency of the situation, I decide not to burden Thea with the grim details, wanting to shield her from any additional bad news. The weight of the secret bears down on me as I near Thea's cabin.

Through the cabin windows, I catch a glimpse of the warm, flickering light from the fireplace. The sight contrasts with the cool night, creating an inviting glow that beckons me closer. I know I shouldn't be here after dark, alone with my fiancée—the rules forbid it. Yet, the magnetic pull of our connection overrides any reservations.

Shifting back to my human form, I approach the cabin, the anticipation of seeing Thea easing the tension from the ominous encounter with the Alpha. I gently knock on the door, and I can hear Thea shuffle around in side.
